Bio

Sara Cavaiola Bio

This tiny Northern up-roar Sara Cavaiola continues to make an impact on the Canadian music scene. Although Sara grew up in the greater Toronto area, most of her musical influences derive from the UK-listening to the likes of Oasis, The Kinks, and The Beatles. By the time Sara turned 18, she received her first guitar from the Pickering Flea Market. Most of Sara’s early years were spent convincing local venues to let her on stage.

A pivotal moment in Sara’s career came in the summer of 2005. While attending a songwriting workshop in Toronto, Sara became inspired to write her first six song EP entitled "Lemonade Daze". She even met some of Canada’s greatest songwriters such as “Andy Kim” (Sugar, Sugar, and Rock Me Gently) and “Ron Sexsmith”. Sara believes there are only two types of music in the world: good music and bad music. “If it has a great melody and you can sing to it it’s a hit”. Sara also believes that being a musician is one thing, songwriting is another. Sara is self-taught on the piano and guitar. Also, she is said to have a unique voice and brilliant stage presence. Sara can often be found between Toronto and Montreal entertaining family and friends. She hopes to one day play “The Glastonbury Festival” in England. Her biggest aspiration is to take over the radio.

Presently Sara has just completed her first EP, which she has recorded in Toronto. You can see Sara in action at local clubs and venues in the downtown Toronto area. Also, check out myspace.com/saramusica for more information on upcoming shows and events.
