Bio

Meet Sara Goodell. She’s a 20 year old aspiring artist from Celina, Texas. Sara is a true small town southern girl who most would describe as having a spit-fire personality! For seven years Sara competed in the Cutting Horse Industry under trainers such as Punk Carter, Teddy Johnson and the late Bill Freeman, who lead her to qualify for the top fifty competitors in the world three times! All the while competing in the cutting horse world, Sara knew she wanted to move to Nashville to become an Artist. Her passion and dedication for Cutting Horses is as strong as her dedication and passion for the Music Industry.

When Sara was just five years old, she was sitting in church with her mom when this beautiful young girl wearing a striking green dress came to perform a gospel song. In that moment, she fell in love with music. Sara looked up at her mom and said; “Someday, I will sing like that girl in the green dress.” A few years later, she found out that the girl in the emerald green dress was Lee Ann Rimes.

Throughout her childhood, Sara sang in the Texas Opry houses, churches and anywhere anyone would hand her a microphone. She grew up listening to Traditional Country Artists and continues to be influenced by those pioneers in the industry. Her music draws from those roots mixed with some new contemporary influences such as Lee Ann Womack, Patty Loveless, Alison Kraus and most recently Carrie Underwood. Her approach is fresh, with a real knowledge of country music along with an impressive work ethic.

Her dream of coming to Nashville came true in May of 2009, on a chance trip to a Songwriting Conference hosted by Kirsti Manna. There she met Songwriter/Mentor Melissa Bollea who encouraged her to follow her dreams. Sara quotes “I moved to Nashville immediately, transferring in my junior year to Belmont University where I major in Music Business. I have fallen in love with Music City and Melissa is my angel. I found in her my big sister, my best friend and a beautiful person who believes in me. She pushes me daily, to continue growing in my art and has given me opportunities that would take most years to acquire.” Melissa states “ Sara has every chance to make it in this town. Not only is she young and beautiful but she’s wildly talented and more than that, she has the kind of drive and determination that will make your head spin. Whatever the outcome, it will be one incredible journey for her for sure.”

Stay tuned!
