Biography of Sarah Baxter

Sarah Baxter is a evolving Melbourne based singer, songwriter, musician - a storyteller who sings her own emotional experience. Her performance is powerful & energetic, has attitude & yet is soulful, immediately resonating with & captivating her audience.
Her original poetic lyrics & music unconsciously captures themes of honest earthy experience with childlike innocence. Her magical voice sends messages which energize & affirm the strength of human experience – often melancholy.
A natural singer Sarah undertook vocal coaching in her teens, completed a Diploma of Music Performance (Jazz) & went on the win a song writing competition at the Kingston Arts Centre. She released a self-titled EP in October 2009 containing 6 original songs & is currently writing her first album which is due for release in mid 2011.
Sarah currently performs around Melbourne with her three piece band featuring herself on piano and vocals, Gavin Parker on bass and Chris Duffy on drums and percussion. Together they have performed at The Paris Cat, Manchester Lane, the Cornish Arms, Bar Open, The Northcote Social Club, Bar 303, The Kingston Arts Centre, Loop, The Bendigo Hotel, the Williamstown Festival and the St Kilda Festival. They have also performed as a support act for Australian legends including Daryl Braithwaite and Ross Wilson.
