"If By Chance"

Sarah Burrill knows from where she writes. And If By Chance has a spirit is born from her experience.

Inherent in this collection of songs that is somewhat reflective, somewhat empowering and somewhat spiritual, Sarah Burrill has gained the love and affection of those that know her. Having come through and survived a rare form of breast cancer, with many rallying around this New-England based songwriter, you can hear Sarah's journey throughout the CD.
Produced by Greg Greenway, Sarah's CD has some fine moments and showcases her smooth and honest timbre in her vocals. If By Chance flirts with different musical styles, some that really seem to show Sarah's talent off to best advantage, some that she is just finding her confidence. For instance, "With My Heart" is a bluesy tune that Burrill shows a strength that is worth developing in her style. In songs like "Welcome Home" and "Hope" Sarah's message and voice truly find its resonance. But I think that Sarah truly shines in the last track where she takes "hances and scores in "Spirit." In a new-age backdrop, Sarah's voice takes on a effortless grace and focused sound that is different from the rest of the CD, but shows a new dimension of her talent.

This heartfelt and genuine record makes apparent the potential of Sarah's artistry, which is still bursting from its seams. And with lf By Chance, we are all celebrating with her.

"Woman on the Rise"

Sarah Burrill is one of those artists who makes us listen. After surviving a rare form of breast cancer, Burril has gone on to record a hauntingly beautiful folk cd. This cd is excitingly surprising. Incredible stories, an incredible story-teller. Burrill’s voice is wonderful, soothing; the music is flowing and great quality, with a good message as the icing on the cake on tracts such as Act of love. A beautiful folk-sound with that 60s sing-a-long feel, love-ins, flowers on some tracts and a dreamy reflective quality on others. Burrill shows the other side of poetry and song from a woman’s journey. If you like folk, you’ll love Sarah Burrill. If you don’t like folk, you will now. - Women's Rising Music
