Truth

Written By: Sarah Golden

He started life as a regular kid
Was rowdy just like the rest
Now he's livin' the good life
As he has so eagerly confessed

He lives his life for the Good Lord
I live my life just for me
He's always looking for direction
And I loath authority

There is a truth that is out there but who's right we'll wait and see
As long as we are each our own we'll both stay happy

Now here I am tattooed, in a life of sin
At least to him that's what he sees
I'm just being a teenage person
I know that he can't judge me

He may not be into judgement
But he'll surely pray for my soul
"I'm sure you understand your own heart", he says
"That's something only you and God know"

There is a truth that is out there but who's right we'll wait and see
As long as we are each our own we'll both stay happy

He swears his life to the bible
Hell, I probably swear ten times a day
He studies up on revivial
While hosting religious soirees

When I'm in trouble I think my way out
When he's in trouble he prays
Don't get me wrong I was raised with religion
I just don't choose to live it in that radical way

There is a truth that is out there but who's right we'll wait and see
As long as we are each our own we'll both stay happy

"Praise The Lord", he says,
"God has blessed you
Won't you come to a meeting my child"

"No thanks", I say, "that's not for me"
"Oh come on, won't you stay a little while"
I turn around, to walk away
And I hear him say with delight
"We've clicked so much here
See the Lord is working"
and I say, "you're gonna be alright"

There is a truth that is out there but who's right we'll wait and see
As long as we are each our own we'll both stay happy

Wild World

Written By: Sarah Golden

He shakes his head in disgust as he looks just past my bust
He calls me sir I swear just to piss me off
So I say, yeah here's my ID, yes I cut my hair
Please tell me where the hell does he get off
And I would just like to say that I would dress and act this way whether or not I even cared he gave a damn
And this is all I can be and I'm happy with me and that's all that really matters in the end

And it's a wild wild wild wild world I'm not too proud to live in
Yeah it's a wild wild wild wild world I'm not too proud to have a hand in

I saw a young kid get knocked down so I went to pick him up and I asked if he was doin' ok
He said, yeah I'm just fine but give me a minute cuz that other little boy has got to pay
So I said kid calm down what is goin' on with you it was an accident can't you see?
He said, there's no way in hell that I'll just stand by while they sit there laughin at me

And it's a wild wild wild wild world I'm not too proud to live in
Yeah it's a wild wild wild wild world I'm not too proud to have a hand in
no no

I met a guy the other day, first I was threatened and scared and then I guess I opened up to him instead
I heard of all his misadventures and of all his crappy luck and I hung on every word that rascal said
So I passed him the pipe I even gave him some food, yeah I thought he was a pretty good guy
It turned out all he really wanted was to watch me and a girlfriend, two dollars bought no truth he could supply

And it's a wild wild wild wild world I'm not too proud to live in
Yeah it's a wild wild wild wild world I'm not too proud to have a hand in
no no no no
it's a wild wild wild wild world i'm not too proud to live in
no ho no ho it's a wild wild wild wild world I'm not too proud to have a hand in
I'm not too proud to have a hand in
I'm not too proud to have a hand in
no woah

Leave It

Written By: Sarah Golden

Take it or leave it
I won't disagree

Becoming the person
That I'm destined to be

Slowly changing
Rearranging my life
Anticipating, only waiting
And babe, just like you I'm just trying to survive

Take it or leave it
This is me
Stripped to the core
Here to implore
If you won't let me love you
Let me be

But I tried
Yeah you tried
Through the fighting and fussing
Screaming and cussing
Long lonely nights
And the tears that were cried
Take it or leave it

This is pain
Out into the unknown
When I feel so alone
What seemed to have promise just caused so much strain
So I'll leave it
Leave it...
