"Review of The Cash Diners"

"Heartfelt bluesy-jazzy-folky-sexy rock (their) original music is the type that thrusts it's hand through your chest and grabs hold of your heart. It's that kind of impact that keeps the audience glued to the band." -- Patti Caron, Music Connection Magazine - Music Connection Magazine

"Blogger Review of The Cash Diners Debut Album"

I have been a cash diner’s fan since the first time I saw them play in a little coffee house in LA. They were great back then but few could have predicted the amazing soulful blues country inspired sound that would make it's way to this incredible album. Sarah Hays' theatrical background is evident in the sense of story present on every track but the album never sounds like musical theater. There is a clear sense of careful craft though the vocals still have a patina, warm and a little rough around the edges, like the blues should be. Sit back pour your-self some whisky and enjoy this debut effort from an amazing band.

Bio

Sarah Hays was raised in North Carolina. She lived in New York City and Los Angeles before settling in Nashville in the fall of 2006.

Her solo EP was produced by drummer Ken Coomer (Wilco, Uncle Tupelo, Clockhammer, and Swag) and mixed by Charlie Brocco (engineer for George Harrison, B.B. King, and Patty Griffin among others). She also had the giddy pleasure of getting Charlie Cushman to play her great-grandfather's banjo (circa 1915) which she just inherited from her Grandma.

Before going solo, Sarah was a member of The Cash Diners, a band based in Los Angeles. They recorded their first record at Omni Studios in Nashville with Ken Coomer and Audley Freed (The Black Crowes, The Dixie Chicks) as guest artists.

Sarah's influences include Ella Fitzgerald, Janis Joplin, Joni Mitchell, Emmylou Harris, Feist, The Dresden Dolls, The Dixie Chicks, The Ditty Bops, Portishead, and Mia Doi Todd.
