Biography

Sarah Pellicano is a singer-songwriter with the ability to have you dancing like Beyonce on a table-top one minute and crying on a rooftop whilst eating an entire wheel of cheese the next. And you wont even be mad, because thats amazing. Pellicano brings her sultry, powerful, Florence Welch-inspired vocals and lyrics that are so emotionally honest, even Dallas Green would be affected by them, to a range of musical genres from acoustic, hip-hop, electronica and drum and bass. With influences ranging from Etta James to Goyte, Pellicano has been compared to both Missy Higgins and James Blake in relation to her vocal talents. That jacket is tight, son.

Collaborating with a range of artists such as Creed Birch & Rob Shaker, Rregula & Dementia, Bitter Belief and Gran Calavera as a vocalist and lyricist, as well as performing as a solo artist both acoustically and electronically and as part of bands Lo & Behold and City of Dogs, Pellicano is fly-kicking musical stereotypes into the far reaches of outer space with every new track she lays down.

Pellicano is also a fan of randomly Sarahnading strangers and replacing as many words as she can with her own name. All puns are intended with this pelican. A spectacle in her trademark spectacles, shes the bottle of red-wine with the polar bear bleeding on the label: you know youre in for a good night when she steps up on stage. Havent heard of her yet? Sarahously? Stop pining over your last musical relationship and fall in love with Pellicano instead.

Plump DJs describe her vocals as sublime. FG claims man, she can belt it out and hes right, she will belt it out while you un-belt your pants. Babies have been conceived along to her music, probably. Trying to slow Pellicano down is harder than trying to get Sneakers OToole to take his sneakers off. Pellicanos latest work is the release of her electronic single, Did You Think, on the 20th of June with an EP release expected late 2013. We all got a little time for that.

Did You Think

Written By: Sarah Pellicano

I've never been alone...

Once in all our glory, you took my hand.
It became my story, what you'd do I'd follow.
I never said I was through with you...
I never said what you couldn't do...

Did you think I was done with you?
Did you think, that I thought...
No, well I never said, I never said, I never said "go".

And now, I thought that we'd grown but it always seems like you're coming from below.
And how, could you believe that I could, believe that I could take you down.
'Cause I was hoping for another you, as if there wasn't more to find.
And how, could you believe that I could, believe that I could take you down.

I've never been alone...

I fell amongst your reason as we made our stand.
It only took one beating to make my heart turn hollow.
Well you always said I was sick of you.
But I never said what you couldn't do.

Did you think I was done with you?
Did you think, that I thought...
No, well I never said, I never said, I never said "go"

And now, I thought that we'd grown but it always seems like you're coming from below.
And how, could you believe that I could, believe that I could take you down.
'Cause I was hoping for another you, as if there wasn't more to find.
And how, could you believe that I could, believe that I could take you down.

Weight

Written By: Sarah Pellicano

I feel the battle went too deep, and I bear my war scars raw.
I felt the mourning come to quick, I've never needed your comfort more.
And now the soldiers all march along, to ensure the blood keeps running thick.
But my commander taught me wrong, I've said no, I won't fight again.

And quite honestly, I thought you were gone.
But I've never seen you lift your own weight.
And quite honestly, I thought you were gone.
But I've never seen you lift your own weight..

It took a while to feel alive, knowing the end had reached the near.
I told the man to take his pick, I knew the verdict was 'less is more'.
I packed my bags and left the rink, thinking the fight had drawn defeat.
Little did I know, I'd just clocked in.
I've said no, I won't lose again.

And quite honestly, I thought you were gone.
But I've never seen you lift your own weight.
And quite honestly, I thought you were gone.
But I've never seen you lift your own weight...

Diamonds

Written By: Sarah Pellicano

Can I say, you've got diamonds in your eyes, I feel them glistening over me as I fell at your...
Hiding from disguise, I feel you changing into me, changing out.
Won't you say something? Can you say something?
I'll hear it more in some ways, course the instant blaze, link the temptation.

Like magic, sparked through and stunned what was left.
As time stood still, we remain content.
Vibrations have filled this room, have you felt them too?

Can I say, you've got diamonds in your eyes, I feel them glistening over me as I fell at your...
Hiding from disguise, I feel you changing into me, changing out.
Won't you say something? Can you say something?
I'll hear it more in some ways, course the instant blaze, link the temptation.

At a place where my hearts filled and seems over flown, you've got me so high, I feel the clouds below.
As vibrations still fill this room, I know you've felt them too.

Its never felt this good.
Its never flown so long.
I see that look in your eyes.

So can I say, you've got diamonds in your eyes, I feel them glistening over me as I fell at your...
Hiding from disguise, I feel you changing into me, changing out.
Won't you say something? Can you say something?
I'll hear it more in some ways, course the instant blaze, link the temptation.

We've reached the place where we belong, after waiting so long.
What did it take to realise a higher ground?
Craving you.
We've reached the place where we belong, after waiting so long.
What did it take to realise a higher ground?
Craving you.
