I am passionate about ministry and I use music as a tool for that calling. I am about the message. People need to be encouraged and know that they are loved; I aim to do that with God through music and the spoken word.

Biography

Sarah has always been drawn to music. As the daughter of a military mom, Sarah found herself in many towns growing up as a child. But she always knew whatever town she was in, she would find an outlet for her music. She always found a way to participate in school choirs, church choirs, worship teams, bands, musical theatre or whatever she could find. As a self-taught musician, Sarah grew her vocal and instrumental talent over the years through many different sources. She even participated in contests such as Assemblies of God Fine Arts Festival in 1998 where she came in 3rd in her state for Female Vocal Solo. Continuing to hone her craft, in 2007 Sarah entered a local “Norton Idol” contest where she placed in the Top 10! Thinking contests and fame might be the way to go, Sarah pressed forward in her pursuit of music. “I had a few successes, but wasn’t interested in letting God be my guide. When I couldn’t make things happen the way I wanted, I began to let discouragement resonate in my head. I allowed myself to believe that I wasn’t good enough for God to use. I needed to be better. I needed to be more.” On the way home from a rejection at an audition, Sarah clearly heard God ask “Are you ready to listen to me now?” Sarah’s been listening ever since. She started songwriting and creating music from her heart about her own experiences. In 2009, Sarah released her debut project “Renovating.” Her most popular track off this project, “One Voice,” talks about this issue. “The more I look back, the more I see that my experience is not entirely unique. People of all ages, especially young people, are falling into the same trap I did. They are trying to go it alone and when they fail, they believe that they are not enough for God and their dreams are not of God. Praise the Lord, I now know that God is comfortable with my humanity, and has plans and dreams for me. Now I have to share that with other people.” Sharing her ministry and talents with people is one of Sarah’s favorite things to do, whether in a church setting or competing in contests like the 2010 Norton Idol contest where she placed 2nd, Sarah’s dream is to always share her heart and her passion for God with others. Sarah’s vision is to impact the way people see themselves in Christ; to show them their value in God’s eyes; and to let them hear that there is a God who cares about their every dream, and every breath. Sarah shares this message wherever and whenever she can. Whether she is singing a solo concert or leading worship with her band, theGive, Sarah strives to deliver the message that God loves us right where we are and cares about our hopes and dreams.

One Voice

Written By: Sarah Rudd

It wasn't long ago in history we know
The school day was changed by a woman on a mission
She won her case that we can not erase
But don't stop prayin' just because they say so

One voice took our prayer from school
One voice made it against the rule
One voice said we're not allowed
To pray to the God on whom we founded our nation
One voice is all it takes for change
One voice can totally rearrange
One voice is what you got so use it or lose it ready or not

You can't have everything do you hear me when I sing
But you don't have to wait for someone to dictate
You have worth and on this earth
That means you have a say in how things go today

One voice set the captives free
One voice saved a wretch like me
One voice cleanses all our sin
Nobody cleans like Jesus my savior
One voice is all it takes for change
One voice can totally rearrange
One voice is what you got so use it lose it ready or not

You might be amazed if just keep our gaze
On the power who raised Jesus from the grave
He was just one voice and He leaves you with a choice
If you're gonna' change the world
Go out and make some noise

The enemy is countin' on you to stay quiet
To think you're a droplet in the seas of the world
The longer that we sit around stayin' silent
Like we buried out talent from the Lord
How can He call us faithful servants
If we don't stand up and face our giants
I don't mean to offend please hear me when
I say "I answer to God before I answer to men."

One voice took our prayer from school
One voice made it against the rule
One voice said we're not allowed
To pray to the God on whom we founded our nation
One voice sets the captives free
One voice saved a wretch like me
One voice cleanses all our sin
Nobody cleans like Jesus my savior
One voice is all it takes for change
One voice can totally rearrange
One voice is what you got
So use it or lose it ready or not

Lead On O King Eternal

Written By: Ernest W. Shurtleff, Henry T. Smart, Sarah Rudd

Belt of truth shield of faith breastplate of righteousness
Helmet of salvation sword of the Spirit

Lead on o King eternal the day of march has come
Hence forth in fields of conquest thy tents shall be our home
Through days or preparation thy grace has made us strong
And now o King eternal we lift our battle song

Belt of truth shield of faith breastplate of righteousness
Helmet of salvation sword of the Spirit

Lead on o King eternal till sins fierce war shall cease
And holiness shall whisper the sweet 'amen' of peace
For not with swords loud clashing or roll of stirring drums
With deeds of love and mercy thy heavenly kingdom comes

Belt of truth shield of faith breastplate of righteousness
Helmet of salvation sword of the Spirit

He's leading us on through the perilous fight
I know it is darkest just before the light
I fall in my weakness in His strength I stand
So lead on o King lead across this land
He's leading us on through the perilous fight
I know it is darkest just before the light
I fall in my weakness in His strength I stand
So lead on o King lead across this land
He's leading us on through the perilous fight
I know it is darkest just before the light
I fall in my weakness in His strength I stand
So lead on o King lead across this land

Lead on o King eternal we follow not with fear
For gladness breaks like morning where 'ere thy face appears
Thy cross is lifted over us we journey in its light
The crown awaits the conquest lead o King of might

Belt of truth shield of faith breastplate of righteousness
Helmet of salvation sword of the Spirit
Belt of truth shield of faith breastplate of righteousness
Helmet of salvation sword of the Spirit

Don't Let Me Move

Written By: Sarah Rudd

Sometimes I get distracted and I lose my way
Sometimes I move ahead and I go astray
That's when I need a hand to guide me back by
The place where I'm by your side

Don't let me move if You don't go with me
Don't let me stay if You're movin' on
Don't let me go where You're not guiding
Don't let me
Don't let me move if You don't go with me
Don't let me stay if You're movin' on
Don't let me go where You're not guiding
Don't let me

Sometime I get real lazy and I lag behind
Sometimes I need someone to come and remind
That You are there no matter if I go or stay
And when I call there's no delay

Don't let me move if You don't go with me
Don't let me stay if You're movin' on
Don't let me go where You're not guiding
Don't let me
Don't let me move if You don't go with me
Don't let me stay if You're movin' on
Don't let me go where You're not guiding
Don't let me

Cause I don't want to take a single breath
I don't want to take a single step
I don't want to speak another if
If it's not because of You
I don't want to see another day
I don't want to sleep another night
I don't want to see another day without you in my life

Don't let me move if You don't go with me
Don't let me stay if You're movin' on
Don't let me go where You're not guiding
Don't let me
Don't let me move if You don't go with me
Don't let me stay if You're movin' on
Don't let me go where You're not guiding
Don't let me move

Renovating

Written By: Sarah Rudd

Many have come before me many may walk behind
What do you see when you look at me there are things I try to hide
See what happens when I build alone I've got it all rearranged
This old heart has faults a many It's time to make a change

Renovating tearing down walls
Build upon the rock of ages cause
I don't want to fall
Renovating Making me new
I don't want to hide the inside of me from You

Deep inside these walls a secret lies
I may look strong on the outside But I wasn't fortified
I don't have time for cosmetic changes I have to overhaul
The weight of the world isn't getting any lighter
So build a stronger wall

Renovating tearing down walls
Build upon the rock of ages cause
I don't want to fall
Renovating Making me new
I don't want to hide the inside of me from You

It's been a long long time, the maintenance fell behind
The roof leaks and the stairs creek
The plaster is falling the inside's appalling
It's all falling apart we've got to do some

Renovating tearing down walls
Build upon the rock of ages cause
I don't want to fall
Renovating Making me new
I don't want to hide the inside of me from You
Renovating tearing down walls
Build upon the rock of ages cause
I don't want to fall
Renovating Making me new
I don't want to hide the inside of me from You
