"Stacey Richrdson-Crawford is making all the right moves"

By STACY STEWART

Contributing Writer

She’s neither self-absorbed nor self-centered; she is simply Stacey Richardson-Crawford. A woman that is confident enough to share some of life’s ups and downs, through her touching new music, in her first solo project, entitled “All About Me,” scheduled for release this month.

Her voice is melodic and there is a heartfelt message within each of her songs. Listening to her lyrical delivery as she maneuvers through soulful R&B tones, is proof positive that Stacey is ready to embrace her audience in a solo capacity and carry on the inspirational musical torch of which she has been afforded an opportunity to experience. Performing since the age of three, Stacey recognized her gift of song early in life and stayed the course. As a professional background vocalist for the powerhouse crooners of both Gerald Levert and Anthony Hamilton, she has graced concert halls around the world, preparing for this moment, when it is now all about her.

Though this particular project holds a very proud title, Stacey in no way omits her beginnings. Coming from a spiritual and musically inclined family “The Weeden Family Singers” who recorded the critically acclaimed album, "Victory Shall Be Mine," Stacey is still humbled and appreciative to the rich family life of which she came. She holds her parents to high esteem and you will find two allegiances on the up-coming CD, of where she sings to their honor.

“Everyone said I looked so much like my mother (Sarah Weeden-Richardson),” she states, as she explains the origins of the songs entitled “Sarah’s Daughter” and “Dreamers.”’

She adds, “My dad was a Tuskegee Airman, and I didn’t even find out until five years ago!” she says with a chuckle. “Both of my parents had dreams for me, and now, I am living them out for them.”

Emerging from the background to the foreground has had its share of ups and downs, but Stacey has managed to see her way through the debris with some assistance along the way. Her long time business associations with friends such as Q Nice and many others, have proven to be valuable as Stacey credits Q Nice for introducing her to the projects Executive Producers, Lenard and Aretha Siggers. The co-writing skills of songstress Conya Doss along with the production talents of ‘Bingo’ of The Rude Boys have also been of great assistance and appreciation to the completion of the project, as their collaborative efforts can also be found on the moving track “Whatever It Is.”

With a clear vision, a strong team in line and a God given talent, Stacey Richardson-Crawford is more than prepared to share “All About Me” with you. On Saturday, June 18 at Brothers Lounge on Detroit Ave. from eight o’clock until midnight, prepare for an outstanding evening as the listening party for “All About Me” will be held. For more information pertaining to the listening party or to see her summer concert schedule, you can follow Stacey on Twitter under the name of Sarahs_girl @ Twitter; on Facebook at Sarahs Fan Page or by logging on to Sarahs_girl.com.

From living life on her own terms, to recognizing the many struggles and successes, disappointments and triumphs that we all face, Stacey has proven that she has the endurance to stay the course and she has a steadfast belief that “The race in not given to the swift nor to the strong, but to the one that endures until the end.”

A Breath of Fresh Air with a Timeless Sound
“Sarah’s Girl”

Cleveland’s own Stacey Richardson Crawford, “Sarah’s Girl”, launches her solo career with the release of her debut R&B/Soul album titled “All About Me”. This album is loaded with groupings of songs thoughtfully written & produced to insure continuity and cohesiveness that is expected from the industry in this genre. Stacey is an accomplished, polished and gifted vocalist who some recognize as one of the industry’s best kept secrets.

Stacey got her start at the early age of 4, singing in a mic on a chair at her grandfather’s church, and throughout her life, she sang, and continues singing and recording with her family gospel choir, the Weeden Family Singers. Stacey eventually moved on to sing background for such artists as Ollie Woodson from the Temptations, Phil Perry, and the late Gerald Levert and Anthony Hamilton for more than 10 years. Stacey has performed throughout the US and traveled overseas in London, UK, Amsterdam, Netherlands, Seoul, Korea, Martinique, and for various jazz festivals in numerous islands. One of her most memorable performances was when she was asked by Paul Shaffer of The Late Show with David Letterman, to sing along with his band at the 2009 Rock and Roll Hall of Fame Induction Ceremonies with legends that were inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame such as Little Anthony and the Imperials, Bobby Womack, and Ronnie Woods of the Rolling Stones.

After years of singing background for so many talented artists, Stacey felt that the time is now, to take center stage, and showcase what had been brewing inside of her all along. After several attempts of coming up with the right sound, Stacey finally came up with a compilation of songs that she felt represented everything that she was trying to convey. On June 21, 2011, her dream finally came to fruition and “All About Me” was released featuring her debut single “Tonight”
