Shoshana Smith doesn't like boxes and titles but know they are sometimes necessary so she has decided to call her music JAZZFUNKSOULOETRY, which is a mixture of Jazz, Funk, R&B and Poetry. Smith has performed all over the New England, New York City and Las Vegas area gracing audiences with her poetic wisdom, intoxicating wordplay and soulful singing style.
Many have said listening to "Sassy Lady is like reading a good book through song and music. Not only is the music funky and the vibe groovy, each song takes you on a journey from start to finish. Sassy Lady explains how she enjoys performing with live musicians "using a live band gives me the freedom to bring new flavor to every song, singing to tracks are just to stifling and people don't come to the show for the artist to play the CD they come to see a performance". Life is truly a journey and sometimes journeys have obstacles, trials and tribulations, But through the journey we begin to learn or suppose to learn new things about ourselves which should enrich our lives one way or the other”.
Sassy Lady leaves no topic unexplored, her topics range from politics, love, the art of masturbation, life after death, what it means to be good parents and the list go on.
What sets this artist aside from the rest is how she is not afraid to express those issues and go against the formula of what some critics believe is popular. Sassy Lady believes if her audience is feeling it showing gratitude and love then it is popular.
