"Satellite Eyes"

Jae, Paul, Will and Jared are the band called Satellite Eyes. The indie band self describes its sound as ambient, rock and ghettotech. Descriptions aside, the band has a solid sound while avoiding the trappings of category.

Satellite Eyes draw immediate comparisons to Radiohead and lesser-known bands like Spymob. The band moves effortlessly from acoustic to electric sounds. “Talkk Radio” and “The Trick” are highly melodic tunes with themes consistent throughout Satellite’s song of love lost or never truly found. “She doesn’t even know how I feel, even though it shows,” is lamented on “The Trick.” The band becomes grittier on “Cry For Help” and “New and Improved.” Here, Satellite showcases ability for mainstream rock.

Whether channeling Thom Yorke with Will’s emotional vocal or delivering a straight ahead pop tune ala Coldplay, Satellite Eyes makes the grade of an up and coming band. The band is consistently performs live throughout the city. Do yourself a favor and check them out.

Bio

Satellite Eyes is a composite of 5 Dallas guys with vastly different musical backgrounds, creating radio-worthy, but original songs.
Will and Dan were the driving force behind the moderately successful Dallas group Badenders, until it collapsed mid-2008. With the additions of Jae, an indie hip-hop/smooth jazz artist on keyboards, and Paul, a jazz saxophonist, on bass, the sound began to evolve commercially but with wide-ranging appeal.
With the obvious need for a drummer, electronic specialist Jared, popped in for a jam, and made himself comfy within lineup.
They will be touring regionally and doing scattered festivals to get their name out there. Look out for some well recorded material in the near future.

Influences include:
Radiohead
Blur
The Doors
D'Angelo
John Legend
