In May 2009 Savage Union released their well received and acclaimed debut EP entitled ‘Exiled From Salvation’. This was a concept EP based on the Knight’s Templar and the Crusades from the 11th to 13th Centuries. All mixing and mastering duties were handled by Eden’s Curse supremo Paul Logue. The lead track from the EP, ‘Hammer of Fate’, gained airplay throughout the UK. In addition, the track won a Future Classic award on legendary rock DJ Tom Russell’s Rock Radio show.
"cutting riffs and piercing guitar work......with pounding drums and shredding guitars, they're speaking to you through lush textures such as on the title track which gradually builds up to a riff that Iron Maiden would be delighted to put their names to." Jigsaw Music
"Mark Macmillan has .... (a) powerful voice and there are some very tasty guitar solos most notably on 'Hammer Of Fate' from James Murray and Steven Weeks.... a promising debut EP that certainly leaves the listener wanting more. Hopefully a full blown album can't be far away." GRTR Jason Ritchie
‘Exiled From Salvation’ also secured Savage Union a prestigious support slot with multi-national melodic metal group ‘Eden’s Curse’ at their warm-up show in Swansea, Wales prior to their UK tour with Firewind and Stratovarius.
