Bio

My birthname is Sthembile Zungu.
However, ever since I can remember, everyone has called me ‘Sam’. Although, this is a nickname, I am pretty sure there are people who have known me for years who don’t actually know my real name. My other nickname says a lot about me-“Barbie”. The name ‘Savali Dalisu’ (alias) directly means “Patience, Make a plan” indirectly, to me, it means: “Patience, God will make a plan” I was born in the Transkei, which is in the Eastern Cape on 22 September 1986. This makes me fall just at the end of Virgo and right at the beginning of Libra…we are sometimes called Vir-librians. My singing can be traced back to when I was only six years old. I loved the spotlight- A LOT!!! And the best part about it is that it always seems to like me…I was a bubbly and creative kid all through high school with so much love and energy to give it made (and still makes)
it impossible not to like me.

I completed my honours degree in mechanical engineering in 2010 before moving to Secunda in Jan 2011 to work for Sasol. While studying I was never able to forget my love for music. I taught myself to play the piano by writing songs. Starting with fairly simple keys then challenging myself to get more creative with the piano. I can’t say I’m a master yet and I would love to take some classical piano lessons as well as guitar. I was also one of the founders of the WITS Music Society aka MUSOC. MUSOC consists of dancers, singers, instrumentalists and dj’s. We organized various teachers and choreographers to come and assist us with preparing the members for various performances held at WITS University. When I moved to Secunda I finally bought my first keyboard. Anyone who has ever heard me sing has begged me to join IDOLS but I couldn’t bring myself to do it because for me it feels like competitive singing takes something significant away from the passion of singing. I have since written over 20 songs in the last year and continue to grow in my sound as a singer/songwriter.

Jamie Vega uploaded a set of samples on to Looperman and about a week later typed his name into the tracks search to see what had come of his loops. He stumbled across the track "Insanity" which I made with one of his loops, he e-mailed me and discussions began. We found that we have styles that compliment each other. After recruiting bassist Simmerdown, we have begun making a few songs under our mini-project "InZaria" and will strive to get better.
