"Savannah Ré Teams Up With Eestbound On “Second Thoughts”"

Savannah Ré's new single "Second Thoughts," premiering today on The FADER, has all the trappings of a song about desire, but I see it as a message of self-control: sometimes you just can't trust your feelings when it's late and you've been sipping on something. Over a dizzying beat by producer Eestbound — who made Travis Scott's "Antidote" with GEN F alum Wondagurl — the Toronto singer sets up her tale of late-night distractions from the rumblings of her heart. Eestbound handles the low end, while Savannah Ré's sweet warble approximates tipsy nostalgia: Time is moving backward with this cup to my face. Here's what she told us about the track, from an upcoming EP, in an email:
Although I don't say the line "Second Thoughts" in the song, this is something I wrote from personal experience. It's about when you've been using distractions to tell yourself you're over someone. In a this case the distraction is a party, and then it hits you that you're not as okay as you thought you were, Maybe you have a couple shots of honey Jack in you, and you start to have second thoughts. - FADER

New Toronto gives us Savannah Ré and her new single 'Second Thoughts.'

Ever felt like drunk texting someone when you know you shouldn't? Savannah Ré takes us with her to a party where she refuses to fall victim to the late night taboo. She begins the song sober, convincing herself that she's okay. As the song goes on and she has a few drinks, she starts having second thoughts.

Listen, okay. Today is Saturday. You're probably going out tonight. You may be next up in her shoes.

Give the song a listen and let us know what you think in the comments. - hypefreshmag

"Savannah Ré – Second Thoughts"

No matter how in deep you are, there’s always room for those second thoughts, and Savanna Ré‘s new cut is the perfect what-the-hell-have-I-gotten-myself-into ditty. Teaming up with Dutch-born producer Eastbound – one of the masterminds behind Travis Scott‘s chart-crusher “Antidote” – Toronto native Ré spills her gossamer vocals over a laid-back RnB beat. “Second Thoughts” has all the makings of an understated classic, gentle vocal runs and open-diary lyricism a refreshing introduction to Ré’s raw talent. - bestbefore

Toronto singer, Savannah Ré will have you contemplating on life while cruising under the city lights with her new song, “Second Thoughts”. Produced by Eestbound, Savannah Ré thinks that she may be over a past relationship, but all it takes sometimes is for that right songs, or the wrong atmosphere to make yourself relapse back and have second thoughts on that one you didn’t need.

“Second Thoughts is about when you’ve been using distractions to tell yourself you’re over someone (in this case a party).” Savannah states in a write up. “Then it hits you that you’re not as okay as you thought you were and you have Second Thoughts about that situation.”

One I love is when an artist lyrical knows how to go off of the feeling of the production. With this track, Savannah delivers her heart. Allowing you to understand her pain, all while giving how fed up she is for feeling this way. But to top it off, it’s the perfect lyrics for this Eestbound production as delivers a dark, reflective production that samples rewound vocals of someone who may be rewinding their memories to reflect on what use to be. - whycauseican

It has finally approached the much hyped Summer Sixteen, which was proclaimed by Drake in the song of the same name. There has been a lot of anticipation in terms of what’s going to burst out of the city since the buzz is still being elevated higher throughout the city. It’s a great time to be from the city, and the music that’s coming out of here certainly reflects that. Savannah Re is an ambassador for the city’s R&B scene, as she’s fluid with her delivery and dynamic in her approaches. Backed back heavy hitting production by Eestbound, this is certainly a set up for what will be a strong project. Until then, certainly enjoy. -

Still working on that hot first release.
