Bio

Savant is an Alternative Rock Band from Los Angeles, California formed in 2008. The band consists of four Los Angeles musicians joined together by their common love of stirring melodies, hard-hitting alternative rock, experimental harmonies, and vintage soul grooves.

Brought up in the suburbs of Los Angeles, vocalist, Sharon Fatoorechi and guitarist/vocalist, Suman Chaterjee became good friends while attending high school together. After graduation, they remained close while pursuing different musical projects, with both playing a variety of venues around California.

In 2008, the two longtime friends came together to create a vibrant embrace of the music that rang true to their hearts during their youth. Joined by the driving, frenetic drumming of John Herman and the enigmatic melodies of bassist Jacek Mozculski, their ideas took on an exciting new depth and dimension. The group took on the name Savant, meaning “one who knows”.

Taking inspiration from artists such as: Sunny Day Real Estate, Incubus, PJ Harvey, Faith No More, Radiohead, The Beatles and Tool, while incorporating elements of funk, experimental 70’s fusion, metal and a host of other influences; this energetic quartet blends soulful, soaring boy/girl vocals with extremely catchy guitar riffs and pulse-pounding rhythms.

Now that Savant is nearly finishing production of their first studio EP, they have begun a viral and social marketing campaign to spread the word for their new creation, garner a buzz, and move forward.

Members of Savant have played: Universal Citywalk Hollywood, Good Hurt, The Whiskey-a-gogo, The Troubadour, The Hard Rock, House of Blues (Foundation Room & Main Stage), Ventura Theater, Malibu Inn, The Joint, The Gig, Mynt, The Canyon Club, Nokia Theater, Mr. T's Bowl, Zanzibar, Bordello
