Bio

Save The REC Center is a band that has been around for about 4 years. We have gone through many musicians and changes to come up with the sound we have today. The band consists of Eric Mertz on lead guitar and back up vocals, Marty Mullane on rhythm guitar, Ryan Ohara on lead locals, Joel Olberholtzer on Bass, and Colin Angstadt on drumz. Some of the venues we have played include, The Kyber, The Silo, Grape Street Pub (R.I.P), Rexs (R.I.P), The Sterling Hotel, Junos’s, The Rusty Nail, and many more.
Our influences include but not limited to: Taking Back Sunday, The Brand New, Incubus, Boy Sets Fire, Fallout Boy, Jimmy Eat World, Rage Against the Machine, Rise Against, NOFX, Radio Head, Alice in Chains, ect.ect.ect.....
Our biggest accomplishment is our bus. We have converted a 1976 international full size 72 passenger school bus in to a party bus. We can fit up to 30 people comfortably in the bus to bring them along to any show. The main point being, you can come to the shop, drink on the bus, drink in the bar, and not have to worry about driving home drunk. The bus is insured, inspected and registered, completely legal. You can go to myspace.com/savethereccenter to see pictures of the bus under construction. We finished everything last month and so far have been very successful with shuttling people to shows. We paid and built the bus all on our own. We are fortunate enough to have two mechanics/fabricators in the band. Luckily, we were able to use many parts the we already had packed away, so it was minimal dollars and alot of fabricating, and rigging.
We have a whole bunch of dumb/funny stories you have heard before in other bios and other bands. We have lost a member to death, and had to take time off because of
new life. I can tell you where we've been and all that and what we've done,........but we want to move forward. So we can trade stories some day over some drinks. For now, stand up, put your hands up, and rock out with us.
