Bio

Saving Ray is a four-piece, guitar-driven, alternative rock band from Cincinnati Ohio. Cunningham, Hagen, and Netherton all grew up together and have played and written music together since 1997. Nolan was added as the vocalist in 1999, and Saving Ray has never looked back. Nolan brought influences of Radiohead, Travis, and the Beatles to the group whose music has been described as “epic pop”, and “searing melodic modern rock”. Within three months of writing and practicing, Saving Ray reached the finals of a local battle of the bands competition. By the end of their first year, SR added a Top 20 finish in the annual 97Xposure contest (97.7 WOXY in Oxford Ohio), had their 5-track EP release named as one of the 20 top local releases of 2000, and were nominated for Best New Artist in the Cincinnati Entertainment Awards. Saving Ray continued to press on in 2001, 2002 and 2003 by showcasing in regional conferences such as: North by Northeast in Toronto Ontario, the Nashville New Music Conference in Nashville Tennessee, the Midwest Music Summit in Indianapolis Indiana and the Midpoint Music Festival in their hometown, Cincinnati Ohio, which prompted two invitations to WEBN studios, one of the largest rock radio stations in Cincinnati, to help promote the festivals. In addition to these travels, SR released their first full length album in November 2001, along with several EPs to distribute at live shows.
