I've Lost Myself

Written By: Savvy Gordon G

Up or down, lost or found
I run, I run… and get nowhere
The world keeps turning round & round
All I can do is sit back and stare
Sit back and stare

Still or progress?
Still I digress
How can I get from here to there?
Am I steady, or am I just a mess?
I don’t know but I still care
But I still care

I’ve lost myself again
Sometimes I know where I am
Sometimes I’m just blowing in the wind
Am I coming or am I going?
Is my distraction showing?
All I know is I’ve lost myself again

Calm & true or lost & blue
Do I know which way I am?
I could be up, I could be down
I’ll ride a good mood when I can
Ride when I can

Drunk or sober, stoned or straight
Do I feel good, or is it fake?
Am I high, or am I happy?
It’s a feeling I don’t want to shake
Don’t want to shake

I’ve lost myself again
Sometimes I know where I am
Sometimes I’m just blowing in the wind
Am I coming or am I going?
Is my distraction showing?
All I know is I’ve lost myself again

Wild or focused, clear or cloudy?
What do I feel and what do I see?
Am I quiet, or am I shouting?
Will you listen to me?!
Listen to me!

Grey or white, dim or bright,
Sometimes things look different to me.
Am I wrong, or am I right?
All I can do is try to be me!
Try to be me!

I’ve lost myself again
Sometimes I know where I am
Sometimes I’m just blowing in the wind
Am I coming or am I going?
Is my distraction showing?
All I know is I’ve lost myself again

I’ve lost myself – myself again
I’ve lost myself – myself again
I’ve lost myself – myself again
I’ve lost myself – myself again

Wine In Case

Written By: Savvy Gordon G

Not long ago, or so it seems
‘Cause I feel you near me still in dreams
We were friends and we were lovers
We’d stay up all night to be with each other

I’d always be sure I had a bottle of wine
‘Cause I knew you’d be over to spend some time
Well it’s been awhile since I’ve seen you now
But I’ve still got that bottle of merlot

There’s a bottle of red wine
That sits up on my shelf
Been there for a long time
In case you drop by

Dark, dry, red wine
We used to drink it all the time

The other day I took it down
‘Cause I had some friends who were comin’ ‘round
I held that bottle in my hand and
I counted how the dice had landed

The numbers had us in a hole
But what if we could throw one more roll
I could not drink that bottle yet
It was for you, I could not forget

The table’s all dressed up for two
And I’m all dressed in your favorite blue
The lights all turned down soft and fine
The doorbell’s ringing – right on time

The evening’s started out just right
I dine with someone new tonight
He asks me, “Well, what shall we drink?”
And I say, “I’ve got the perfect thing, I think”

There’s a bottle of red wine
That sits up on my shelf
Been there for a long time
In case you drop by

Dark, dry, red wine
You know I drink it all the time

Never Be Yours

Written By: Savvy Gordon G

Looking out my window
And it’s so gray outside
That I can’t face another day

I close my eyes and
I try to hide inside
‘Cause I don’t understand your way

The way you catch me
The way you sneak into my room
How you invent the games you play

The way you tell me
The things you tell me
‘Cause you don’t know what else to say

Ooo Reed – you’re a mystery
Ooo Reed – why can’t you set me free?

You shake me
You break me
I mistake me for yours

I’d love you
I’d love to
But I’ll never be yours

I try to think about
Anything, anything else
Distract my thoughts with something new

No matter what I do
Or hear or say or watch
I can only think of you

The way you kiss me
The way you get into my head
How what you say is never true

The way you hold me
When you hold me
‘Cause you don’t know what else to do

Ooo Reed – you’re a mystery
Ooo tell me – why you don’t love me
