First weekly post this week in a long time not talk about current events, but we will start straight on

*** Who follows my blog - you've probably noticed that I usually write new stuff every two weeks, both in terms of comfort, but mainly due to the amount of news I can read. This week, after a while I write the following week and the main reason is the new band (for me at least) named Sawyer . The band is a band that Israel spends the island from its first six months ago and should get another one real soon. At 12.7 They will also Ozen Bar Tel Aviv and TUNE IN -18.7 Showcase at AKUM. The truth is it took me about two seconds to get excited from that song Changes for those who like indie music or alternative music that opportunity excited Israel with me and of course come to the show - HaMevaker

Sawyer is an Israeli group that cannot be ignored. Ears are pricked and feet strut to the beat while a big smile comes over your face. It’s a country grunge combo with a sharp twist and fun cynical look. Their spicy rock’n'roll sends you to journey to the American south and west. The music style takes you from the Louisiana Bagous to the low down bars of Texas and back to the desolate deserts of the Rockies. The original songs combine unique vocals, humorous lyrics and an addictive guitar sound that gets you off you feet. Sawyer clearly have fun on the stage.

Sawyer began their activity in the end of 2012 after working together on several successful projects. The creative process of lyrics, music and arrangement is done by three of the band members under leadership of the group’s founder and producer, Shay Moshe Moshe. Shay is a Rimon College of Music graduate and is well known in the Tel-Aviv music scene, working with known artists Anat Esther Hitman, Hatapuzim, Meital Michaeli and Atara & the Retros. Atara Merhav brings the American flavor with her poi gent witty lyrics and her colorful vocals. Her energetic performance sweeps you away. Itai Freed, a singer/songwriter, displays a quality of singing that hypnotizes and leaves no choice but to follow.

In the music one can hear the influences of Led Zeppelin, Janis Joplin, Johnny Cash, The White Stripes and Soundgarden. The result is an amalgam of America’s finest in a single, rough dance-till-you-drop format.

Today the band is performing in and out if Tel-Aviv and they leave the stages on fire! An EP was released at the beginning of 2013 and the single ‘Changes’ is being played on radio stations. Recently Sawyer played a showcase in front of Harvey Leeds (who has worked with Pearl Jam, Michael Jackson and Sony Records) and received an enthusiastic and promising review. In the near future Sawyer will release the second EP, and never stop making new music, playing all over and dreaming big.
