Say Revenge! is made up of two girls and two boys who like beer, sarcasm, and songs with woahs!!
Originally started under the moniker 'The Brassknuckle Betties,' the band met a slight hiccup when 8 months after starting out, two members parted ways. Mari, Ed, and Gigi took a month to decide where they really wanted to go with this whole band thing, and they decided to continue with a vengeance. First thing on the agenda was a name change. Singer Gigi Rodden explains, "Say Revenge is the first song that me and Mari worked on together, and it was always alot of fun to play."
Drummer Eddie elaborates with a laugh, "yea and it was also the only name that the three of us could even agree on!"
With a new name in the books and some new songs written, Ed asked his longtime friend Ben Martin to pick up the bass. They played their first show as Say Revenge! in Sept. '09.
When asked about how some thought the name was an indirect statement to people who were downing the band, guitarist Mari Mayhem laughs and gives a sly smile. "We just thought it would be funny because a lot of bands name themselves after their favorite band's songs...we named ourselves after our own song!"
