Bio

Houston´s own southern charmer Sayrie, hits stages all over entertaining audiences with her witty punch lines and spontaneous acts on stage. The self-proclaimed Ragin’ Cajun is best known for her characters, impersonations and also for being the most entertaining to watch.
At a young age, Sayrie had a passion for comedy and sought to emulate female comedic stars Lucille Ball and Carroll Burnett for their physical comedy as well as comedic talents such as SNL’s Eddie Murphy, Martin Lawrence and Jim Carrey. “I would do anything for a laugh and I am definitely not afraid to look silly. I would rather be characterized as funny and entertaining over cute any day,” says Sayrie.
In 2005, Sayrie decided to start behind the scenes- to build a foundation of writing, video editing, directing and producing- before pursuing a career in front of the camera. She originally started the comedic ball rolling with her own sketch comedy show "LOL" in 2006, for a public broadcast channel in Texas, in which she directed, produced and also starred. During her college years at the University Of Houston, as a media production major, Sayrie embraced the art of working in production and studied the framework to television and film. While in college and thereafter, Sayrie went on to have a very successful career in production while working for Viacom and stations such as VH1, ABC and MTV. Years later, she decided to quit everything and moved from New York City to Los Angeles to pursue comedy full time. “Even though my career was comfortable, I did not want to get stuck behind the scenes and extinguish my desires to perform stand-up,” Sayrie conveyed.
Over the years, Sayrie graduated from the renowned People´s Improv Theatre (PIT) in New York City, completed Flapper's stand-up, David Arnold’s “The Art of Stand-up” and various acting schools. She has performed alongside various renown comics such as -- Kim Whitley for her TV special on the OWN Network “Raising Whitley” said to debut in April, Mike Epps and others.
Sayrie currently stands on the platform of H.D.L., which stands for Humor Diversity and Love. “I want dispense humor while making others embrace diversity and set into action more realms of love,” says Sayrie. She moves to transcend lines of color, age and gender. Currently, she is using her production background and mixing it with her comedic gifts to direct, produce and star in her own new sketch comedy web series titled “LOL,” showcasing her abilities to create characters with various dialects such as Indian, Asian, Southern, British and more. Sayrie’s hilariously outrageous style leads her to be the comedienne to watch for future generations.
