Edgard Scandurra is the Brazilian guitar hero, who jumped from rock to the electronic music using the nickname of Benzina. And Benzinas live act is directed to different sources: rock, techno, electro and tech-house.
Strong chords, with variations between rock and music from 50 to 150 bpm, wandering through modern rocks, electro rocks, ballads in the Serge Gainsboroughs style and beats in the hellish style of the techno underground.
Thats the way his last CD, Amor Incondicional, is defined. Launched in October 2006, it is the musicians most electronic project and it is reputed by Brazilian specialized media as one of the most precious jewels of the electronic music.
Edgard Scandurra started to play guitar as a child and when he was already 15, he was the leader of a punk-rock band called Subúrbio, which later became Ira!, one of the most famous Brazilian bands in the 80s. Already at that time, he was the drummer of the band Mercenárias, a reference in the Brazilian underground punk rock, and recorded two albums with the group Smack. Left-handed and self learned, he developed a unique technique, playing with inverted chords (using the right-handed guitar with his left hand), which stood him out from the beginning of his career.
