Scarlet Crimson

"I want my audience to be inspired and intrigued. I want to give them something to look at. And when they listen to my music, I want them to have an orgasm in their ears".

Scarlet at 21 years old, was born in The Hague (The Netherlands), but spent the majority of her teenage years in Brisbane, all the while learning, writing and performing music. Being born to musical parents, Scarlet found her love for music early on. Singing along to Mariah Carey at the age of seven, Scarlet realised she wanted to be able to reach people with her voice, and that only a future in music would satisfy that ambition. At the age of thirteen, Scarlet composed her first song on an acoustic guitar. Whilst living in different countries, being surrounded by different cultures, and attending different schools, Scarlet's passion for music remained.

After graduating from High School as well as the Young Conservatorium in 2007 Scarlet spent two years in Western Europe travelling, exploring, developing and performing her music. She performed as a solo singer/songwriter, an acoustic duo, -trio, and later a four-man rock band at a variety of performances, gigs, and events. However, the singer's musical tastebuds were never quite satisfied. A great fan of artists such as Michael Jackson, and Lady Gaga, Scarlet wanted to express her love for dancing, strong beats, and club music, and found that acoustic music could not fulfill this desire."One day I imagined myself amongst the audience and watching one of my acoustic sets. After imagining that, I could also clearly imagine falling asleep to my own music. That was the turning point, I knew I needed to create something different". Driven by the need to expand her style and explore dance music, the young singer started working with electronic, midi generated sounds and embarked on a new musical journey. Her companions? A laptop, midi keyboard, and a pumping set of speakers.

Having returned to Brisbane late 2009 to start her three year music degree at QUT Scarlet continues the exploration of electronic dance music to this day. The energetic blonde is writing and producing electronic dance music, reminiscent of artists such as LadyHawke, with a view at performing live. Her sound is strongly influenced by elements of dub step, electro-pop, and synth-pop, whilst her look is sexy, intriguing, and guaranteed to set some tongues wagging. Currently performing in Brisbane as a solo act with keys and laptop, plans are in place to expand Scarlet Crimson and to allow some great musicians to lighten the trusty laptop's load. With a number of solid tracks on her repertoire and many more in the production stages this young sexy performer is ready to meet the Brisbane music scene and take her new, exciting sound public.
