"Women and Rock and Roll"

“Women and rock and roll is all about. Especially when you have attitude, then the business is more cool. This is the case of the band Scary Cherry and The Bang Bangs, who makes a song with 70′s glitter rock coupled with a snotty punk rawness. A powerful voice gives more strength and ruthlessness to the band’s music.
Scary Cherry and The Bang Bangs is a band with a girl, but making music for “macho”.” - One Hit More

"Punk Rock ALIVE and Well"

“My favorite act of the night was Scary Cherry and the Bang Bangs. They were amazing. They were punk rock alive and well and with a pulse approaching a heart attack. They were sexy and ugly at the same time. They were in your face. They covered the Iggy Pop with perfect channeling of the essence of this Punk rock god. I am now a totally sold out fan for these 21st century punk rock gods. Scary Cherry and the Bang Bangs have enough of the style of GG Allen to be amazing, but not so much that you have to worry about leaving the show smeared in shit. The energy of this band was impossible to match, and they probably prevented me from being as fully converted to One Eyed Doll as I could have been. One Eyed Doll followed Scary Cherry and the Bang Bangs, which unfortunately for them, is an incredibly hard act to follow. I want to see Scary Cherry and the Bang Bangs over and over and over and over again.” - Don Recuero, Metroplexian

"Nothing Short of Explosive"

The Misfits At House Of Blues In Dallas November 29 with Scary Cherry and the Bang Bangs

The opening act, Scary and the Bang Bangs, were nothing short of explosive in sound and stage performance. With a vixen of a lead vocalist and two pants tightening female back up vocalists, they had a stage presence that aroused the crowd and made girlfriends envious. As her raw vocals were cutting through the mic and spitting fire into the crowd, several pits started (by me) only to die down and the start once again. After a long set, and a few blasts from the lead guitarists helium shooting guitar, their set ended as incredibley as it started and the curtains closed. - Abraham Hill

Their self-released album, "GIRL", and single "Don't Wanna" were nominated for Best Rock Album and "Best Rock Single", which they won at The 13th Annual Independent Music Awards in August 2014.  "Don't Wanna" has charted #2 on college radio charts.  The band also won "Artist of the Year" from 365 Radio Network on Xtreme 365 Radio in Sept. 2014.

The band released "Limited Edition Ep" (on iTunes) in 2010 which featured 5 songs that garnered airplay in major markets as well as a $5000 first prize Our Stage award for the song "Let's Go" (which has also been featured in a commercial).

They also released a single of The Runaway's "Cherry Bomb" (also on iTunes) in which all proceeds go to Nikki Sixx's charity for runaways.

Winning the coveted award for Best Rock Single, "Don't Wanna" and being nominated for Best Rock Album, "GIRL", at The 13th Annual Independent Music Awards, Scary Cherry and the Bang Bangs are gaining Industry momentum and attention.  Being named "Artist of the Year" from 365 Radio Network's Xtreme 365 Radio, charting #2 on College Radio and being played on over 100 + radio stations have propelled the band into a consistent forward motion.

So who are Scary Cherry and the Bang Bangs?

With sonic and artistic nods to 70's glitter rock coupled with a snotty punk rawness, their debut LP GIRL is an assured, addled, four-on-the-floor joyride. Scary Cherry combines riot grrrl ethos with the pop smarts of The Runaways for a sound that salutes the past while paving its own hard rock path. From the spoken word album opener of Scary in the recording studio, GIRL is a raw, sometimes disturbing, but ultimately empowering journey through the eyes and life of a girl. The album is a glitter roller coaster, twisting and turning, coursing through a gamut of emotions with no exit until the last disturbing notes of a creepy piano and strings fade away.

While it may sound like the band hails from the gutters of NYC, Scary Cherry and the Bang Bangs actually come from the most unlikely of homes: Dallas, TX. Born out of roller derby in the Lone Star State, team captain and coach for the (then undefeated) Slaughterers, Scary Cherry was asked to write a theme song for the league. Scary recruited like-minded friends and an unstoppable machine was created. 6 years, a few hundred shows and one EP later (the bratty titled Limited Edition 5 Song EP), Scary Cherry and the Bang Bangs have garnered a loyal and ever growing fan base who refer to themselves and the band as Glitter Punks (a moniker the band wears with pride).

Whether they are opening up for Misfits, Megadeth, Slash or Lords of Acid, the band has no demographic boundaries. Having already had 4 original singles played in major market radio, and music featured in film, Scary Cherry and the Bang Bangs and their debutante GIRL are ready to come out in a big way. So who exactly is this GIRL the album speaks of? "She is all of us!" explains Scary Cherry. "From the self-absorbed bitch in "Glitter" to the severely deranged in "Tracked Down" (a love letter from a female serial killer). She is the GIRL that you have averted your gaze from ,"Crazy Jane", as well as the GIRL you cannot take your eyes off of ,"Anita 69"."
GIRL is a simultaneously hyperkinetic, dangerous, sexy beast, and ultimately, the essence of Scary Cherry and the Bang Bangs.
