Bio
With her son, David Hurd, Karen R. Hurd has formed a collaborative partnership for the creation of new works for the stage. Scene & Hurd Productions consists of this writer-composer team, in which Karen develops lyrics and scripts and David crafts musical numbers. Scene & Hurd Productions has generated numerous new musicals. A listing of these musicals can be found at www.sceneandhurd.com.
Karen has written over a dozen plays, most of them with lyrics to new tunes. She is the Music and Worship Director for Faith Evangelical Free Church in Fall Creek, Wisconsin.
David graduated from the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire Summa cum Laude with a degree in piano performance. He performs regularly with his band Kneel as lead singer and guitarist. He is currently the Director of Worship at The Bridge Church in Eau Claire. He has composed several new works for the stage.
Influences include Stephen Sondheim, Rodgers & Hammerstein, & Jason Robert Brown.
