If every suburban band were as accomplished as Scenic Route, the local hard rock scene would be renowned worldwide. Totipotent, the group's debut EP, is extraordinarily forceful, with cuts like "Sipapu" and "Overdriven" providing pile-driver beats even as "This Point" offers a pensive (but no less brawny) guitar and keyboards interlude. All five tunes are compelling, hinting at a future that should be both scenically and sonically promising. Bio
Hard Rock, Guitar Solos, Jack Daniel's and Beer. Scenic Route is a four piece wrecking crew based outside Chicago. The power and drive of their guitar driven riffs bring new life to the Windy City's rock scene. With the release of their debut full-length album "City On Fire" (July 2007) recorded at Rax Trax Recording in Chicago (American Motherload, Smashing Pumpkins) Scenic Route is pounding the scene gaining momentum with every venue they play.
This project has been long in the making. Fittingly, the name SCENIC ROUTE and the SR logo have been with them since the beginning and represent more than just a band name. It's an off the beaten path attitude and code to live by. The band founders Jeremy Bremner (guitarist/vocalist) and Ryan Distel (bassist) grew up together, and their relentless pursuit of this band has driven them over the past decade. With the addition of lead guitarist Mike Anderson and his ability to shred guitar solos, SCENIC ROUTE have found their niche and are here to establish themselves.
