Scenic Routes Bio
Scenic Routes are a six-piece band based in Brighton. Juggling with musical styles such as Folk, Jazz, Blues and Country, has led them on a journey of ethnic, traditional and cultural learning, giving them a secure base for their contemporary compositions.
It’s always been a hard one to describe the sound of the band and to find them on the pathway of compulsory genre. Staying true to their name they have always taken the Scenic Route.
With members of the band coming from as far a field as the USA and Slovakia, this creative cosmopolitan band has bought strong musical influences from overseas.
Waves of the accordion can send your imagination to a quaint café in Paris, where you discuss the thoughts of a dying man with Ernest Hemingway. While sipping coffee and counting the minutes, along comes a drummer to lift up your spirits. A cute clarinettist with melodious charm flirts with a bass playing funky Brahms. A troubadour appears and says: “Listen to my song, you say staccato, I say vibrato, lets get the whole thing on!”.
