ABOUT THE BAND - Not many cover or tribute bands out there ever attempt to engage in the raw talent, mysticism, and magic that is TOOL. But if you talk to four brave souls from New York City (Angelo Rivera- vocals; John Catrini - bass; Donald Pusateri- drums; Keith Williams- guitar), their love and passion for this music led them to form SCHISM. New York City's premiere TOOL tribute band.
"We started this back in 2001, after seeing a TOOL show at Madison Square Garden. We simply loved the music and wanted to share it live with other TOOL minded fans. We've been a national touring act for over 6 years now" says bassist John Catrini. Guitarist Keith Williams explained, "This isn't something you tap your foot to, this is more of an interactive experience for the listener. These songs are compositional masterpieces, which will be studied for years to come".
As Donald (Danny Carey Jr) put it, "If you've never had the chance to see TOOL live, here's your local opportunity." And truly a job well done.

Our journey begins back in Early 2001, home base Manhattan. NYC TOOL tribute band SCHISM was in it's embryonic developmental stages. Keith Williams, mastermind, guitarist, organizeur, band manager, recording artist, promo deity, Chiropractor & founder of SCHISM (whew!) saw his first TOOL show on May 20th, 2001 at the Hammerstein Ballroom with some friends. "We were just amazed at the overall package. The music was amazing, the lighting and stage production was unique. The lead singer was in the back of the stage the entire 2 hours, then addressed the crowd with "Good Evening". It was the last song! Intermission, the lights dimmed down, they migrated towards the center of the stage and drank a 6 pack, and just stared back at the crowd. It was great!!! None of this, "let me see your lighters" or "everyone lets see your hands" crap, this band was straight up, ROCK, without the fluff, just some great thought out mathematical symphonies mostly in the key tuning of D.
Shortly thereafter, our first show was July 18th 2001 at Downtime in NYC. No one locally was performing anything like TOOL's music live. Right then and there, after that show we knew this was going to be something deeper than some 1,2,3,4 pop music cover band. This truly was a musical experience for me and everyone involved. Now 7 years later, this band has just gotten bigger and better.
Last year we got to perform with the likes of Alice in Chains and 20,000 people at the Tweeter Center in MA. This summer we performed next to the Beastie Boys at that same Hammerstein Ballroom where we saw TOOL back in 2001! This is as close to a live TOOL show as your going to get. This is America's oldest International touring TOOL tribute act. SCHISM: a must see show. We invite you the collective unconscious to join us. - Manuel Marino- Renouned Music Critic
