Bio

Schizoid Lloyd is a Dutch band known for their seamless blend of many different musical styles. Spacious symphonic Pink Floydian parts and heavy guitar riffs are followed by oriental melodies and classical harmonies inspired by Mozart and Bach. Influenced by bands like Porcupine Tree, Opeth, Muse, System of a Down, Tool and Radiohead, the band has created a truly unique modern sound. Schizoid Lloyd will take you on a musical roller coaster ride. Schizoid Lloyd has released his first EP “Virus” at the end of April 2009. A short while after that, the EP was chosen to be “Demo of the month” in the well known Dutch popmagazine 'FRET'. The 5 members had worked with studio-guru Oscar Holleman (known for his work with Within Temptation, Krezip) to give their EP the full and solid sound that it needed. In 2008, only 6 months after the birth of the band in October 2007, Schizoid Lloyd won the prestigious Rob Acda Award in their hometown Haarlem. They won studiotime which helped create the EP, but also a gig at the main stage of the biggest Liberty Festival in the Netherlands. The local media were impressed by “the strong expressiveness of the musical content which is remarkable for a young band that only just started playing together.” In 2010 Schizoid Lloyd has won the nh-poplive contest and recorded a single at the e-sound studio's. Schizoid Lloyd is now ready to confront the people with an intense and smashing live performance of their musical roller coaster ride.
