Schooley Station (skoo' ly sta'shun) - noun. 1. A defunct railway station near Chillicothe, Ohio. 2. The musical lovechild of Josh Rouse, James Taylor, Coldplay, and Better Than Ezra.

Biography

Taking the name of a bygone railway station near their hometown of Chillicothe, Ohio, Schooley Station have been performing regionally since 2003.

The quartet began as a duo, with only Richard Lewis and James Bahleda, for several months before adding Joe Gillum on drums. That configuration continued for nearly a year before including saxophonist/guitarist Ashley Good. Ashley has since moved, and the band has filled his void with Lewis' own brother, Jeff Lewis on guitar.

Due to their wide array of influences and preferences, Schooley Station prides themselves in creating unique music. At times, their sound can be reminiscent of American folk rock of the early 1970s, while simultaneously evoking a newer Britpop feeling.

Lyrics

Walking On Water

Written By: Richard Lewis & James Bahleda

If all else fails
What's left to think about
I've been chasing tails
Can't make heads of it

I don't mind walking on water
I don't mind the eggshells either
All of this feeling all of this reeling
What can we do but get it right?
All of this pain, yeah, all of this gain
What can we do but get it right?

"Please keep in touch" she asks me
Is that too much to try?

I don't mind walking on water
I don't mind the eggshells either
All of this feeling all of this reeling
What can we do but get it right?
All of this pain, yeah, all of this gain
What can we do but get it right?

All of this feeling all of this reeling
What can we do but get it right?
All of this pain, yeah, all of this gain
What can we do but get it
What can we do but make it?
