PERSONAL BIO OF JHAMAR HENRY AKA SCHOOLBOYY

Jhamar “SchoolBoyy” Henry was born in Scarborough, Ontario Canada. SchoolBoyy was the first child born to his unwed mother, Stephanie Logan and his father Dean Henry. SchoolBoyy was raised in Scarborough until the age of 4 when the family moved to Mississauga, Ontario Canada where he attended elementary school. When he turned 6 the family moved back to Scarborough where SchoolBoyy exhibited a great enjoyment and talent for music. He was introduced to all genre of music but from a young age developed a preference for hip hop and r&b. It was at the age of 6 that SchoolBoyy wrote his first rap and from then it started his dream to become a rapper.

Being from a low-income, single parent household the family was forced to move quite often to keep a roof over their heads. At times, the stress of moving made it quite difficult for Jhamar to establish long lasting friendships.

At the age of 11 SchoolBoyy’s pregnant mother decided to move the family, now consisting of him, his two younger sisters Teshani, and Taja to Fort Lauderdale, Florida to start a new life. There he learned the different flavors of music that were popular in the South and he learned to incorporate these new flavors into his music. SchoolBoyy at this time developed a hunger to become a rap artist and at the age of 14 decided to move back to Toronto and continue his musical growth. While in Toronto and socializing with his cousins he was nicknamed Schoolboyy and thus the name and persona Schoolboyy was created. Armed with a new identity and thirst to succeed in the music industry Schoolboyy’s uncle, Clive Daniel, who himself was active in the music industry in Canada and who initially introduced Schoolboyy to hip hop decided to mentor his young nephew and mold him in an artist.

Currently with 14 yrs of rapping under his belt and two mix tapes released Schoolboyy is set for bigger and better things in his near and distant future!
