Orual's Song

Written By: Joshua Schroeder

Orual’s Song:

Verse 1:
I’m sitting here across the way from a girl
That could save me from myself
She could be my help
She could save me from my self

But depression seems to be her thing
In minor keys she sings herself to sleep
But at least she gave Jesus her soul to keep

She gives and she gives but she doesn’t get
She gives to me but only keeps her debt
It’s like she wants to be sad
But a tragedy could drive you mad

Chorus:
It’s almost like she doesn’t believe in happiness
It’s almost like she doesn’t believe in Jesus
It’s almost like she doesn’t believe in happiness
It’s almost like she doesn’t believe in Joy

Verse 2:
She affects everyone when she walks in the room
She could make you smile before this gloom
Had taken over her face
It’s like all happiness has been erased

But she has more than you’ll ever know
Big brown eyes and skin like snow
She could save me from myself
My need for lust, power and wealth

Chorus

Bridge:
Oh why can’t you let our hearts be happy
Oh tell me why can’t you see
Can you even tell
That I’m standing right in front of you?

Oh just let our hearts be happy
Oh tell my why can’t you see
Can you even tell
That I’m standing right in front of you?
Saying I’ve got nothing left inside
Do you really want to see me cry
I’ve nothing left inside
I’ve nothing left inside

Chorus

Life's A Mystery

Written By: Joshua Schroeder

Some people come up with silly questions
That just can’t be answered, answered right now
Some people come up with silly answers
Like standing tall or alcohol or just rocking out.

Chorus:
But, life’s a mystery don’t ruin the end for me
I want to find out for myself
Life a mystery don’t ruin the fun for me
I want to get there by myself

So I can Go Go Go ‘till there’s nothing left to go and see
Run Run Run ‘till there’s no more road in front of me
Dance Dance Dance until my feet get tired and I get dizzy

Some people come up with silly questions
Like what is the point of humanity
Some people come up with silly answers
Like aliens on Mars or drinking Starbucks Coffee

Chorus

So I can Go Go Go ‘till there’s nothing left to go and see
Run Run Run ‘till there’s no more road in front of me
Dance Dance Dance until my feet get tired and I get dizzy

But if you don’t know
Which way to go
Don’t ask questions until you get old!!!

Chorus

So I can Go Go Go ‘till there’s nothing left to go and see
Run Run Run ‘till there’s no more road in front of me
Dance Dance Dance until my feet get tired and I get dizzy

So I can Sing Sing Sing ‘till my throat gets tired and scratchy
Love Love Love ‘till my heart it whole and happy
Dance Dance Dance unill my shoes are worn and I finally have a girl in my arms

StereoTyping

Stereo Typing

Verse 1:
I am an American, Californian, Santa Barbr’an, Westmont man
Communities of imagination surround me but don’t define me
My country teaches me that individuality is why we proudly stand
My religion gives me the vision for the perfect motherland

Chorus:
First I am a brother to my sister
And a blessing to my mother
First I am a friend to my neighbor
And a son to my father
A cousin to my cousin, a nephew, and a grandson too
I’m not that stereotype you thought you knew
Think about it

Verse 2:
I’m a white bread, middle class, tall white skinny ass Westmont man
Don’t dance don’t sing, it would be embarrassing ‘cause your not black
Go to college get robbed hope for a desk job from your degree
What does a silly paper at graduation tell anyone about me?

Chorus

Verse 3:
I’m a Christian, Musician, Kid on a Mission, Tell your friends
The West is waning, start praying, ask God for the message that He sends
Education, determination, passion for humanity is not enough
Take up your cross, what’s gained is lost, we go from dust to dust anyway.

Chorus:
First I am a brother to my sister
And a blessing to my mother
First I am a friend to my neighbor
And a son to my father
A cousin to my cousin, a nephew, and a grandson too
I’m not that stereotype you thought you knew
Think about it
