Bringing classic and modern together!!!

Biography

Science Camp is a master songwriter. His style comes from two main influences

Indie/Alternative bands:
MGMT, Imagine Dragons, Passion Pit, Grouplove, Capital Cities, Muse, etc.
*He gets his vibe, and his emotional palate from this music.

Singer Songwriters:
Jason Mraz, Ed Sheeran, James Taylor, James Blake, John Mayer, Amy Winehouse, Elton John, Billy Joel, Alicia Keys
*He gets his ability with melody and lyrics as well as his raw acoustic aesthetic from this music.

JP was born playing the piano. He started his musical journey with classical, and soon transitioned to pop and blues. Being part of a musical family, he was helped to learn Beatles and other pop music by ear.

During high school and college, he studied jazz piano and began really opening up his singing voice. He kicked around Orange County and LA playing italian restaurants and cocktail lounges ;) good times. Playing everything from Sinatra to the Beatles, to Maroon 5, he was able to internalize and define a timeless American Songwriting style

Now he writes songs that sound both modern and classic in the same moment; taking the retro aesthetic of composing for piano and voice, but combining it with modern attitudes, lyrics, stories, melodies, chords, dance rhythms, and so on ;)
