Bio
In November of 2007, Science Ficiton emerged on to the San Diego music scene. Founding members Allen de la Rosa (guitar), Jacob "Cubby" Miranda (bass), and Antonio "Tony" Bravo (drums) quickly got to work to expand their sound of hip hop, rock and jazz with focuses on the music rather than vocals, hence each member pushes a bit more to contribute to the performance with gripping solos and extended live improv jams. In the past few months the band has been performing in the area, Science Fiction has showcased their flexibility performing alongside acts such as San Diego's DJ Artistic of Deep Rooted and UBUV. Influences include the following: Soulive, The Meters, Jamiroquai, Miles, Herbie Hancock, Michael Jackson (Jackson 5, Off the Wall, and Thriller-specifically) Outkast, The Beatles, Jurassic 5, Corinne Bailey Rae, Thelonius Monk, Coltrane, Scofield, Parker, Lettuce, Medeski Martin & Wood, Stevie Wonder, Mingus, Cube , Ken Clark Organ Trio,The Roots...so many more
