Science Fiction Jazz

Science Fiction started back in November of 2007. We were born and raised on the central coast in the city of Santa Maria, CA. We have been playing music for about 9 years individually, and got together to work on some local projects in the genres of: Rock, Upbeat Funk/Fusion Instrumental. Our band consists of members: Allen and Aaron de la Rosa on Guitars/Vocals, Jacob “Cubby” Miranda on Bass, and Tony Bravo on Drums. We have played venues up and down the coast, and have recently made San Diego our home. Currently living in North Park/Normal Heights, Ca, we have been busy writing new material and playing the music circuit; playing clubs, such as: Kadan, Radio Room, Soda Bar, U-31 cocktail lounge, Bar Pink (Pink Elephant), Kava Lounge, O’Connell’s etc. After a couple of guest appearances on the illfonix hour of jazz 88.3 FM, the band has been known for playing highly energetic, deep, powerful, improv- filled performances that are lead by highly melodic heads with the grooviest rhythm beats. We are notorious for having special guest appearances during our shows, and really encourage the idea of on the spot improv jams, and adlibs. Our mission is to create music that comes from the passion for our instruments, and our overall art.
