Born and bred in Crown Heights, Brooklyn, MC and producer, ScienZe (aka Jamal Monsanto) released his ?rst mixtape “The DOPEness, Vol. 1” in 2009. Drawing inspiration from the DIY aesthetic found in independent ?lms and world music; while exploring themes of love and loss and the importance of having a thirst for knowledge, Scienze has long-recognized the importance of collaboration and an open mind, when making music.

After releasing “Ode 2 Dilla” in 2010, a tribute to the beloved producter and his critically acclaimed “Hall Pass”, Scienze has since garnered attention from popular online music blogs like 2dopeboyz, OkayPlayer,, Fresh Daily and Pigeons and Planes.

ScienZe has hit the stage with artists such as TiRoN & Ayomari, Homeboy Sandman, Recess, Fresh Daily, recorded with acclaimed producers Ski Beatz and Blu, and has most recently featured Def Jam Recordings artist, Asher Roth, on his 2011 release “When Skies Fall”.

To kick-off the first quarter of 2012, ScienZe teamed up with producer King I Divine to release their collaborative effort, "Divine ScienZe". The LP did very well and was featured on numerous blogs and media outlets. Since then, the duo embarked on the "Enjoy Tonight Tour' where they traveled across the nation performing for crowds in San Diego, New York City, Los Angeles, Boston, just to name a few.

ScienZe is currently in the studio working on multiple collaborative projects, and is scheduled to release his solo full-length "Ella" this summer.
