Scoop Trumbull & The Wrong Notes

Scoop Trumbull & The Wrong Notes

Scoop Trumbull & The Wrong Notes is Ty Trumbull: A young man bottled in the passion and sincerity of punk rock, stirred daily with a five-string banjo, and matured in a vinyl cask made from 'Anthology of American Folk Music' records.

Scoop Trumbull & The Wrong Notes is usually just Ty Trumbull. The overly-convoluted nomenclature is what happens when one man uses his banjo to paddle through the murky waters of old-time, pre-war folk music on a ramshackle raft built of punk rock show flyers and empty whiskey bottles, all the way dragging up ghosts and monsters–both real and imagined–like worms from the soil.

Sometimes Ty is joined on stage and on record by other musicians, and when Ty isn't playing with the Wrong Notes he can be seen filling the on-stage banjo roll for bands like the Juno-nominated Strumbellas or country-punk band Summer of 92.
