Scot-Free

Born in a small town in Louisiana, Scot-Free has always had a love for music. Influenced mostly by old r&b music his rap style is a mixture of soul, southern slang, with a little new york street hip-hop. Although rapping for fun with friends all his life, he did not become a serious rapper until 2004 when he entered a freestyle competition where he demolished all competition. Since that night his main focus has been rap. Scot-Free then began building his skills by battling local rappers and also doing guess appearances on local artist projects. He also has done some tracks with a producer from the UK helping him gain popularity overseas too.

After recording his yet released self titled album in 2005 which he wrote all material for, Scot-Free is now promoting his company Yllcats Entertainment and seeking a major label deal. Hoping to land a deal he has been dishing out promotional albums all over the country creating what he hopes to become a mass underground following. Scot-Free is known to be out in the streets with his t-shirt on passing out cd's just trying to get anyone with an ear to listen. Just trying to give people some good music to listen to. Scot-Free has now branched off into the production aspect of the game by learning to produce tracks and also songwriting for other artist he hopes to have a major affect on the hip-hop scene. Scot-Free gives knowledge by rapping about life where he is from and also current events. He is also able to slow things down for the ladies and take you to the dance floor with his party music. Working with an array of multi-talented local artist Scot-Free was able to create a musical sound that is like none ever heard. Scot-Free’s talents are not just limited to the hip hop market. He also has skills in every other genre of music including country, rhythm and blues, and rock.

Scot-Free has nothing going on in his life to distract him from his goals in the music industry. He hopes to bring a fresh new look at the way people see southern rappers, showing the world that the south is more than rims and grills. With the hip-hop market filled with gimmicks and fakes, he knows that it will be a hard task to become a major artist but he is definitely up for the challenge. At 23 years of age Scot-Free knows that he still has room to grow but he is already one of the best meaning with a little time and practice he will be number one. Scot-Free is known to his local supporters as the franchise for his city the one that they truly believe in his talents. Hopefully with his grind, ambition, and the soul of a hustler he will be able to take the rap into the future and bring hip-hop back to where it needs to be.
