Bio

Scot is a songwriter with a long history in music. From touring with huge names, writing award-winning songs, and teaching songwriting courses, Scot has developed a rich artistry and worked in almost every aspect of the music industry.

From opening for The WHO, touring w/ ROBERT PLANT and ALISON KRAUSS to co-writing a GRAMMY-winning song for FAITH HILL and TIM MCGRAW, this is the wild ride so far:

1995 Scot Sax forms and fronts pop-rock band WANDERLUST. The band signs to RCA Records. First single I Walked penned by Sax goes to number 1 on rock stations around the country as the band tours US and Canada with COLLECTIVE SOUL. Of the debut album the Sunday London Times says “One of the greatest rock albums of all time”.

1996 Scot and the band open for THE WHO.

1998 Wanderlust tours Europe, appears on Cocoa Krispies cereal box and performs final show at LA’s Viper Room.

1999 Sax moves to Los Angeles and lands publishing deal at WARNER/CHAPPELL PUBLISHING as a full time writer where he writes with Jason Mraz, Jennifer Love-Hewitt, Paul Williams, John Rich and others. His song I Am The Summertime is featured in the Summer blockbuster AMERICAN PIE as Sax tours England with his new band Bachelor Number One and signs with British label Edel UK for a European release of I Am The Summertime

2000 GOLD RECORD is awarded to Scot for million-selling AMERICAN PIE SOUNDTRACK.

2001 Scot forms rock band FEEL and signs a record deal and publishing deal with CURB RECORDS.

2002 Scot and FEEL tour the US while their singles Got Your Name On It and Won’t Stand In Your Way receive national airplay on AAA and Hot AC radio stations.

2003 FEEL release 2 more albums independently, Scot meets Nashville’s John Rich of Big And Rich to collaborate.

2004 Sax’ songs are featured on networks CBS, Lifetime, E! Entertainment etc.

2005 Like We Never Loved At All a song written by Scot, John Rich and Vicky McGhee and performed by FAITH HILL and TIM McGRAW goes to the top of the charts worldwide. The song receives a GRAMMY.

2006 Scot receives ASCAP AWARD for Like We Never Loved At All in Nashville.

2007 Scot discovers soulful singer-writer Sharon Little in Philadelphia. The two write and perform together and after a year of touring Sharon signs to CBS RECORDS.

2008 Scot Sax and Sharon Little are chosen by Robert Plant, Alison Krauss and T-Bone Burnett to open 45 shows for them across the country. Their songs are currently appearing on The Cleaner on A&E, Numb3rs on CBS and many more. Artist Mutlu (Blue Note/Manhatten) performs several Scot Sax co-written songs on his ’08 release entitled Living It. Sax released a solo album entitled “while she was working” this year as well. 2009 Scot appears on CSI:NY (in a scene with Gary Sinese) performing with Sharon Little. Airdate: January 14th. Scot and Sharon Little’s song “Peppermint and Glue” appears on the NCIS Soundtrack along with Bob Dylan, John Mellencamp and others.

2010 Sax is working with Don Was, producer of The Rolling Stones, Bonnie Raitt, Bob Dylan, B-52's, in Los Angeles, album to be released 2011 on CBS Records by Sharon Little. Scot sits in on 2 sessions with MICK JAGGER for the Exile On Main Street outtake mixes in Los Angeles in December.

2010 “Genie In My Dreams” Co-written by Sax appears on The NCIS Soundtrack along with Bob Dylan, Norah Jones and others. The song is featured on the show on the February 2nd airing as well. Scot performs solo opening for Ian “All The Young Dudes” Hunter. “Ooh Wee” co-written by Scot appears in Tv Show GHOST WHISPERER, Scot’s co-write “Falling In Love (With My Best Friend) released on Ryko/Warner by Matt White. Scot is currently set to teach songwriting at University Of The Arts in Philadelphia Fall 2010 PHILADELPHIA MAGAZINE cites Sax’ latest albums as “classic pop soul”.

2011 Sax signs with Downtown Music Publishing, home of Cold War Kids, Seal and more, in NY.
His song “Love Is A Simple Song” is chosen for the flick 16-Love to be relased in the Fall.
Scot conducts songwriting course at University of The Arts in Philadelphia. At Philadelphia’s VA Hospital
Scot Sax writes songs with Veterans for the Musicians On Call program, sponsored by WXPN.

2012 Signs with record label Zip, out of San Francisco, for Wanderlust’s “Record Time” distributed by SONY/Red.
Self-penned and performed songs are featured on TV’s “Keeping Up With The Kardashians”.
“Maybe You’re Lost” from Sax’ album Queen Electric is heard on mega teen-show Degrassi. Sax
leads songwriting workshop for First Person Arts in Philadelphia in addition to his weekly class at University of The Arts.

2013 Sax teams up with Oliver Wood of The Wood Brothers to produce Suzie Brown at Nashville’s Legendary Sound Emporium. In addition to writing with such greats as Dave Berg and Kate York, Sax has been performing for and with patients at the oldest Psychiatric Hospital in the co
