Bio
Born and raised in Meaford Ontario Scott Almond grew up listening to Country and soft rock with a wee bit of hard rock in the mix. His debut album Hard Land is a solid country album but infuses an essence of his musical rock roots with just enough edge to make a unique country style of his own.
His musical inspirations have come through artists such as Bruce Springsteen and Canada's own Stompin' Tom Connors. You may sense a bit of Steve Earl and Fred Eaglesmith also.
One of the most remarkable things about Scott's new album "This Hard Land" is the fact he and his band "The Night Hawks" recorded the entire album in 12 hours. No auto-tuners or pitch benders allowed.....this is an example of Scott's desire to produce music in its purest form...much like his songwriting. Scott and his band have been busy this past year performing with Canadian Artists such as Colin Amey, Jamie Warren, Barnard & Brohm.
Scott recently released "'Hard Land" as a single to European radio Markets through www.DashMusic.ca and Western Heart Promotions in Arizona. He is fast becoming a favorite to radio there and it is anticipated he will chart well.
Scott Almond is a definitley an original and you will love his humble, straight and honest approach at life and music.
