"Tight as a drum"

At our house concert this summer, Michelle and Scott Dalziel delivered song after song with polished, tight-as-a-drum harmony and precision instrumentation with guitars and djembe. Nearly every song was introduced with an amusing or heartfelt story that set the stage for us to connect with each. We heard the emotional story in “Rachel’s Song” of a healing bond between two women and their music. We understood commitment in “Gravel Roads”, and here in the middle of July, we could almost feel exactly how cold Iowa winters can be. The best thing of all? They love their work and it showed in their faces and in the eye contact they made with their audience. They interacted with the audience in the best way and are the perfect package for house concerts and listening rooms.

"Venue Review"

The Dalziels created a kind of magnetism that is rare, even on a well-worn stage like that at the Focal Point's." - Focal Point, St. Louis

"Revolution CD Review"

“Iowa Based folksters ride high on solid melodies and seasoned vocals. Michelle’s voice has several occasions to spill into gospel gypsy inflections, while Scott’s evokes shades of Richard Thompson in his Matter-Of-Fact way with words.” - Maximum Ink Magazine

"Artist Review"

“These guys have the full package, tight harmonies, solid songs, and a groove that won’t stop. All dished out with loads of fun, great energy, and big open hearts.” - Johnsmith

"Radio Performance Review"

“A Big Sound in a Small Package.” - Phil Maas KUNI

"Artist Review"

"Michelle and Scott - What a breath of fresh air, passionate, intelligent lyrics with just enough mystery making their music unique and appealing. This is a duo going places." - Rachel Bissex

"Diary CD and Artist Review"

I LOVE Michelle’s voice! I love the timbre,
and the fluidity, and the feel of it. and then I LOVE
how her Husband sounds, and how they wrap around each
other like presents under a tree. The whole vibe of
the album is incandescent...just lovely

The fresh and soulful sounds of Scott and Michelle's voices, combined with their high energy performance, memorable and meaningful songwriting, and instrumental finness, put them in a category all their own. Acoustic Rock or Folk genres could very well hold them but not completely. They dip down into R&B, Jazz, roots, and Blues showing the versatility of this duo. Since their Kerrville Folk Festival and South West Regional Folk Alliance Debut's in 2004, they are gaining recognition and respect from not only audiences, but from venue owners and established artists alike:

2011 "Scott and Michelle's Music makes me smile and Michelle has one of the best voices I have ever recorded." - Bruce Swedien
