Time and Money

Written By: Scott Becker

Years ago when I had more time
I had no money, I did just fine
Life was twisted, life was cool
Few resisted, broke the rules
As the days flew by I learned to bide my time
Time and money that's the stuff

Time and money that's the stuff
You got enough of one the other's not enough
Life is simple life is cruel
Squeeze the dimple wipe the drool
Watch the days go by and learn to bide your time
Time and that's the stuff

Now I'm grown got a little more time
Got a little bit of money I'm still doing just fine
Life will get you by the throat
Steal your whiskey, take your coat
Watch the days go by and learn to bide your time
Time and money that's the stuff

Rents

Written By: Scott Becker

Generations are running by us
Though we never meant to intrude
Only wanting what we both thought best for you
You raise children a little strange
You were not permitted to do
All those things but I’ve said enough now I’m through

Understand you were once my child
Life as clay in my hands
Wisdom in my experience
Stubbornness in your plans

But I think you turned out all right
You were given all the right tools
Synthesized them and realized your own rules
Give to them what we gave to you
Soon we’ll all be like the sand in the dunes
Like the sand in the dunes
Like the sand in the dunes

Fly Paper

Written By: Scott Becker

Basic needs have not been met
Tinged with sadness and regret
Far away I hope to get from you
All forgiving when I fall
Desperate living, heed the call
I come to you and throw it all away
Lying deceiving and cheating on you
You blow it off like some strange caper
Desperately telling you daily we’re through
You stick to me like fly paper

Incandescent twisted game
Near transcendent lying shame
Life plods onward
Through the wind and rain
There’s no denying certain charms
There’s comfort lying in your arms
I come to you and set it all aflame
Lying deceiving and cheating on you
You blow it off like some strange caper
Desperately telling you daily we’re through
You stick to me like fly paper
