Milwaukee’s Scott Berendt has been a local favorite for years in his many projects both solo and with bands such as the Us Project. His ability to switch from drums to vocals and guitar not only shows versatility, but has also resulted in two solo records that have sold thousands. His latest recording, Don’t Look Back, is a mix of jazz, pop and world beat that defines him as an established artist. Friday, Sept. 23, Berendt will put on a showcase performance to celebrate the new release at Potawatomi’s Northern Lights Theater. This is a free show that will employ all of the technology and splendor that this major venue has to offer.
Many of the area’s musicians and clubs have been doing their part to aid those affected by Hurricane Katrina. Friday and Saturday, Sept. 23-24, Linneman’s Riverwest Inn will present the “Rock the Flood” benefit. Among the many artists performing will be Fire on Your Sleeve with their jam-based brand of Brit-pop. The event should have a “loose” feel with many off-the-cuff performances by some of Milwaukee’s best dropping in to lend a hand.
If you’re a Beatles fan with a secret guilty pleasure for the occasional heavy metal of groups like Metallica, then the spoof covers of Milwaukee’s Beatallica will take care of all your truly complicated needs. Sunday, Sept. 25 the boys bring it on at Vnuk’s Lounge with special guests Koala.
Since 1991, the Milwaukee Accordion Club has been helping the area “squeeze” a little music into their lives with a special reverence for the beloved instrument. Monday, Sept. 26, MAC meets again at the Root River Center in Franklin with Sandy Bednarek & Shirl Barry (aka the Grace Notes), the Note-Ables with Ron Becker and a feature performance by up-and-comer Harry Ostrenga.
All-ages punk shows have been a bit rare since the demise of the Globe, giving young bands few opportunities to jam in the name of hardcore. Saturday, Sept. 24, the Shorewood Legion Post will help out with a punk extravaganza featuring Eyes to the Sky, Theadora, Upon Desolate Hands, Somebody Shouted Bomb, At Last Never Came and After the Burial. Have fun, guys!

In the last 5 years Scott and his bands have headlined at The Whisky a Go Go and House of Blues in L.A. and Chicago, the MGM in LasVegas, Summer Fest in Milwaukee, Taste of MN, Navy Pier, a Cruise Ship concert and a slew of other big events around the country.
Scott is widely known for his stage production, showmanship, range of talent and aline-up of some of the best musicians around. Solo or with an 8 piece band, Scott acquires an edgy sound on vocals combined with an eclectic style of music, all its own, which appears on his three albums, Albion Moon, Hoping For The Sun, and Dont Look Back.
As a drummer and a singer he has opened for Collective Soul, Eddie Money, Everclear, Ted Nugent, Pat Benatar, Cheap Trick, Vertical Horizon, Eddie Money, Asia, The Bodeans and many, many more. Scott has performed and toured for the last 10 years with many other artists including, the late Steve Allen Quartet, Buddy Miles, and the popular rock band, Bad Boy, where Scott gets to show off his amazing drum chops.
