Bio
Scott Gold is not the average singer/songwriter. Focusing on upbeat lyrics and catchy melodies instead of the “woe is me” clichés generally seen with singer/songwriters, Scott Gold has created a unique niche within the genre. Following in the footsteps of artists such as John Mayer and Matt Nathanson, Scott Gold has created an intimate bond with his fans, and his natural charisma draws new fans in almost immediately.
Born in Northern Virginia, Scott Gold has been playing music since he was a toddler. He began to write songs at the age of ten, and by the age of 17 he had been recognized for his work. Scott’s original composition Stranger Things was awarded the Award of Excellence in the regional Reflections Contest in Virginia, after receiving the top honor in both the George C. Marshall High School and district competitions.
After moving to Atlanta, Georgia to attend Emory University, Scott Gold began to make a name for himself in the Atlanta music scene. Playing at such venues as the Somber Reptile, the IF Coffee House and Eddie's Attic, Scott’s fan base started to expand. He is also beginning to make a dent in the Washington D.C. scene, playing at the IOTA Bar & Grill, The Old Brogue, and Jammin' Java.
