Scott James is attempting to take hip- hop to places it has never been before. Melding influences like Wu-Tang Clan, Led Zepplin, Redman, Frank Zappa, Nas, and JethroTull, Scott James is begining to create a sound that will broaden the face of rap music. From radio friendly takes on mainstream topics to ten minute epic songs, SJ leaves no stone unturned in his quest to absorb life and ring it out all over the microphone. In addition to being a talented lyricist and producer Scott James is also an accomplished writer and canvas artist, spreading his unique brand of perception and experience all over the universe. SJ was originaly born on Long Island NY, but migrated to Staten Island, NY in 1993. Like some hip hop artists SJ has a past deeply rooted in street life and negative influences, but unlike most he has trancended the lifestyle and uses his gritty up bringing to in still an edgey attitude even in his most playful songs. SJ has performed in over 75 venues in the New York metro area as well as special appearances in Miami, Canada, and Cancun Mexico. SJ, even with his first solo record coming out in 2009, already has a fan mailing list numbering in the thousands and through his rigorous touring schedule and personable attitude continues to gain support from fans of all genres
