Bio

Scott Lawson got his first taste of playing music onstage at the age of 19; when he briefly sang for several months with a group that featured a member of the legendary Muddy Waters Blues Band. Afterwards, Scott's interest in music then went from rock bands like Led Zeppelin & the Allman Brothers; to the more esoteric and varied territories of delta blues, and other forms of American roots music. Scott has shared the stage with, or performed in support of: Roomfull of Blues; Marianne Faithfull; Peter Wolf; Doc Watson; Mick Jones & Rick Willis of Foreigner; Ricky Scaggs; Tiny Tim; Martina McBride; Sleepy LaBeef; Luka Bloom; Texas; Luther "Guitar JR" Johnson; Jimmy Dale Gilmore; Commander Cody & His Lost Planet Airmen.

In the rock band Mambo Sons: Scott has recorded and released three critically acclaimed indepentent CD's. Their sophomore CD "Play Some Rock & Roll!" was named "Best Independent Release" by NY Rock Magazine. Their latest CD, "Racket Of Three" was named "Record of The Year" in Thailand. All over the world: Fans in Germany, Japan, Croatia, Sweden and the UK write to the band thru their website (www.mambosons.com)

With the pop band Orange Crush (www.ocrush.com) Scott uses his steel trap musical memory to conjure up all of the hit songs from the 1980s. Since 2002: Orange Crush with Scott Lawson has been perennially named Best Cover Band by the readers of the Valley Advocate.

With the Americana music project Zip Cody: Scott's original songs are soulful, tuneful and harken back to an age where iPods were better known as truckstop jukeboxes.
