Bio
Scott began singing harmonies with his mother on the long drives to her job when he was young. The music of Peter, Paul & Mary, The Four Freshmen, and the Carpenters filled his youth, along with music from his favorite TV show, Hee Haw.
Later, he discovered FM radio, and his older sister introduced him to two bands that forever altered his view of music - Queen and the Beatles, along with the pop metal of Pat Benetar, The Knack, Cheap Trick and Def Leppard. In the meantime, he learned to play the saxophone so he could hang out with his friends in the band room.
Music was a great way to avoid getting beat up during lunchtime. Instead of confronting bullies, Scott holed up in the library listening to music.
After going through phase after phase of music: punk, New Wave, prog rock, grunge, country, bluegrass, Broadway musicals, singing in numerous bands and always losing one member or another who couldn’t follow Scott into his next phase, Scott finally picked up a guitar and struck out on his own. His current direction owes as much to Hank Williams as it does to indie rock. His music is multifaceted, powerfully emotional, and full of memorable tunes.
