Maher, Long established as one of Ireland's top alternative rockers, comes to us with this new debut, released at about the same time he was making the rounds of New York area clubs. It's a good thing he has gotten some well deserved exposure here because Maher is a major talent waiting to break through on an International level.
The silken-voiced yet aggresive rock star is quite profilic, having penned more than 300 songs in recent years, but he seems to have picked his best for "Cartoon Moon".
The melodies and arrangements on this stunning debut are all first rate, especially the title track "Cartoon Moon", "The Sun Came" and the indescribaly beautiful "The People We Were" (a very moving track). There are at least four songs here that could easily be hit singles given the airplay.
If Cartoon Moon is any indication, it won't be long before the U.S. adopts Maher as her very own.

I had two top thirties in Ireland with former band "Beach" and took the title of "Best Unsigned band in Europe" when we won the Emergenza Competition in Paris with over 1800 bands involved....I have since recorded two albums and toured in the U.S. I sang with Sir George Martin (Beatles Producer) and many many others. I am just back from my third trip to the U.S. incorporating Nashville this time as I have two songs coming out there on an Indie movie . I am currently getting ready to release my second album "21 Bends" on the 5th Aug '08. I co-wrote some other albums in the last two years stretching my R+B legs and and hooking up with Nashville writers in March '08. I sang on the multi platignum selling album "Cake Sale" which featured irish bands coming together for charity. I like poached eggs !

I live in Dublin Ireland but the U.S. seems to be smiling at me !! ......I released my debut album Cartoon Moon last year to surprisingly great reviews likening it to a mix of Jeff Buckley/Beatles/Crowded House and I have two songs on movies coming out in Nov 07 in the USA "Lost On The B-Side" and "Light Years Away". I spent May, June and July touring on both the East and West Coasts of America this year gaining a big fan base and getting very pleasing reviews.
