"Scott Marshall - Broken"

In America is the first song that blasts through speakers when you put on Scott Marshall’s newest disc, Broken. It’s a song that expresses Marshall’s love of America, and it shows off Marshall’s pipes. His soulful, country-tinged vocals are put on display throughout the twelve tracks on Broken. Solid singing can be heard on Searching For Simple and Sometimes Strong, but it’s on In America where Marshall shows off his vocal muscle.
Marshall’s got the voice and the rest of his band, the Marshall Highway, provides the solid sonic backdrop to Marshall’s soulful vocal bursts. Together, they lock in that country freshness with hints at pop rock. Broken is for country and rock fans alike.

"Get Into The Act"

South Mountain-area rocker Scott Marshall was slightly confused when folks started labeling him ''new country,'' but decided to be cool with it. ''I realized that today's country is like yesterday's rock 'n' roll,'' he says. And he's very into yesterday's rock 'n' roll. He especially digs the '70s: Eagles, Mellencamp and bands of today that have that sound, along with the Black Crowes and occasionally Bon Jovi. This is only one element of his band's sound, however.

''We try to keep the shows well-rounded,'' he says. ''You might get a little of pop, rock, country and blues.''
Marshall recently played with Country Music Television star Trent Tomlinson, whose CD, ''Country is My Rock,'' shows the trend to country/rock. Playing with national acts such as Tomlinson and an upcoming gig with Little Big Town is exciting, but Marshall is happy to play anywhere he can. To quote the Web site of his record label (Soul Shaker Records), he has ''performed at clubs, pubs, prisons, benefits, festivals, churches, schools, weddings, funerals, and just about everywhere he's been asked to play.''

Marshall is proud that he has achieved his record deal and a good deal of local support as an independent singer/songwriter. His songs often deal with his religious faith ý Christianity informs much of his music. He is writing material for a second CD.

''When I'm writing, I try to write from a perspective that reveals my faith to a degree that it will be able to edify other people, but still keep it real,'' he says. ''It's simple foot-stomping, good-time, good-fun rock 'n' roll music.''

Scott Marshall hails from the Greater Lehigh Valley's South Mountain area, of Eastern PA. Scott Marshall & Marshall's Highway are quickly becoming known for delivering nothing less than authentic and sincere doses of heartfelt, feelgood music, that continues to win over audiences, club owners, promoters, and the media alike.

Original in his own right, Scott Marshall has a sound and style that people of all ages, everywhere, are embracing and enjoying! Whether he is headlining, backing a national act, or performing an acoustic show, Scott Marshall delivers on every level. His ability to connect with an audience as an entertainer commands your attention. From start to finish he captivates audiences with his Voice and his music. His ability to combine Rock and Country, with Pop and Blues is, as one writer put it, "a recipe that keeps you coming back for more". With a Southern sound and flare, this northern boy pours his heart out with every note he plays, and word he sings. His songs cover a broad spectrum of topics and the emotions that go with them. His passionate, and strong vocal ability enables him to get his messages across loud and clear. You're guaranteed to leave a show humming and or singing his songs.

Scott has performed at clubs, pubs, prisons, benefits, festivals, churches, schools, weddings, funerals, and just about everywhere he's been asked to play. Without a doubt, his music truly offers something for everyone. It's no surprise that his fan base continues to grow, with every show. As a new artist on the rise, he say's, "Everyone has a story, and everyone has a song. I have many with many in mind. The goal is to identify and edify. Walk by Faith, keep it real and keep it straight! People like that, cause everyone, at every level, can relate". The music truly speaks for itself. All that's sung is true, and if you listen closely, you're likely to hear something as if it was meant just for you. Whether you want to just listen, get your foot stompin or get out and dance, it's all there!

Following his recent signing with Indie Label SoulShakerRecords and the release of his debut CD "BROKEN", Label representatives have been discussing many things, including details with Wal-Mart distribution, and possibly a Wal-Mart tour sometime in the future.

Backed by his band Marshall's Highway, who's raw ability and chemistry is fantastic, makes putting on a good show, suitable for any venue, easy! Their improvization skills often enable Scott to make the songs even more entertaining and personal than they already are, and the covers they perform from time to time, sound like their own. After recently performing with Country Star Trent Tomlinson, the band has been asked to perform with other Country Stars, like Steve Azar & Little Big Town. Label em' what you want, (Rock, Country, etc...) but stop wasting time as if you own it, and check em out! Again, again & again! If your already a fan, know that your support means everything, and it truly is wonderful seeing, and meeting all of you at each and every show! It's all good!
