When I decided to start this band I really wanted to do something different than many other cover bands out there. I wanted to be more than just 4 guys up on a stage hiding behind their microphone stands, I wanted to be a performance band. I wanted a band that focused on not only content, but the delivery of that content.
It is important to us that the listener is having fun. The idea behind our group is that we want everyone out there listening to us, to know almost every song we play. If you’ve ever watched a cover band before and everyone else in the room knows the song but you, you feel a little uncomfortable and left out...you want to be able to join in on the fun.
Music is a symbiotic relationship between the musician and the listener. They both feed off of each other’s energy, that's what it is so much fun. We want everyone out there to have as much fun as we are having. That is what Scott Meinschock and the Gigawatts are about.
